After tearing down the old office, I have finally set up my new one. Still a work in progress, but complete enough to show off a little:p I have quite the random assortment of commissioned art on the wall. My best piece has yet to be put up. Still need to get it framed:( Anyhoo....enjoy:)

Some new additions I picked up at Dallas Fan Expo Commission piece from Matthew Weldon. Doodle/Prelim piece from J Scott Campbell FINALLY! Some J Scott OA. Woo!

Without going into some political rant, there are probably numerous people in this world who would want to join an organization that wants to tear down the existing "damaged" society, to build up what they would consider a better one. This is not a new concept in the history of man. While fantastical, it is definitely not out of the realm of possibility that something like this could occur, even in the 21st century.

Yeah even that indirect sunlight is going to fade those books in time. Well i guess thats the price to pay for having books on display. But comics are meant to be looked at not hidden in a dark box somewhere. Ill take my chances In my office there is a sliver of direct sunlight coming in the room, even with the blackout shades down. To add a little more protection, I had UV blocking film put on the window. Does not completely negate the UV, but reduces it significantly. Along with rotating the books every two weeks or so, it should keep the fading down to a minimum.

So far, only two statues, but hope to add a couple more in the future:)

Ehh....I have a thick skin. I know from time to time that statements may get taken the wrong way. I just chalk it up to lessons learned and move on. In any case, back to the business of "Moderns that are heating up on ebay!"

People will interpret statements however they want to, regardless of what is actually being said. I have explained myself and whether or not you choose to understand that, or hear it, is of no consequence to me. The statement was a joke, plain and simple. If you did not get it, then I have nothing more for you. Move along......... All that being said...book ended at $60 and change with 8 bidders and a boatload of watchers....for what it is worth.

This makes it seem like something you do on occasion I guess it could be interpreted that way, but I was trying to make a joke based on the couple of responses about the book earlier in the thread. In hind sight, I probably should have quoted the posts to provide context. For the record, I do not shill at any time. Artificially inflating the value of a book is a waste of a good reputation that I work hard at attaining.

I have a Tec 27 Lee Variant that will be ending tonight. I don't plan on shilling it, so we shall see if this is truly a $100 book:p My copy should not be hard to find, if you even care to look.

Having not seen the previews solicitation for SSM #20, was the Campbell variant even mentioned in it? Was this a last minute change that Marvel made to the incentive variant and how much would that have affected orders of SSM #20? Just based on the sales numbers of SSM #19 versus the numbers of ASM #678, it would seem like the print run of the Campbell variant could be in the same ballpark(1800 vs 1100) as the MJ/Venom variant, assuming it was a 1:50 like the JSC. Could the value of SSM #20 gain even half the value of #678 given that there will be roughly 700 more copies floating around? Or are my number completely skewed?

Picked up a couple of commissions at Dallas Fan Days this weekend. Supergirl by Vo Nguyen Ms. Marvel by Joshua Flowers

Will this show win any Emmys, no, but I felt that it was a decent enough introduction for the series. I will agree that it was a bit slow, but it seems to me that it was intended to be that way. From my point of view, this series is working in conjunction with the existing Marvel movies, thus the world is already established. Most of the meat has already been served with Avengers and Iron Man 3. Agents of SHIELD, to me, is the side dish, adding a little more insight to the "rest of the world," while the super heroes are doing their business. I expected a fairly slow, character introducing episode and that is what I got. Personally, I liked the bio/engineer duo and the "hacker," characters. However, I will agree that the lead agent and the "bus driver," are in desperate need of a little charisma. I actually liked the part where Coulson injected Ward with the truth serum. I hope his personality in that moment comes out a bit more. Melinda May, on the other hand, needs a few cocktails to lighten up. You can not compare this series to Breaking Bad, Mad Men or Game of Thrones. Those series had to establish a world that was yet unknown to the viewer. Yes, GoT already was out in books, but it still had to be done for the non-reader. This pilot was far from perfect, but was it terrible, absolutely not. There is far worse garbage on TV that has seen multiple seasons. I for one will be looking forward to this show each week. I need to watch something while GoT is not on:p

I thoroughly enjoyed the first story arc and this new one is shaping up to be even better. I love the digs being made in this issue and hope they continue. I had more laughs reading this series than most currently running sit-coms.
