  1. Pristine as in unread and untouched gentlemen.

That clarification does not change my lol

    +1

What does "unread and untouched" have to do with pristine? It's certainly possible that some books got damaged in packing/transit from Diamond. It's also certainly possible that a copy has been opened, handled, read, etc. and still garner a 9.8 or higher from CGC.

Conservatively, I'd say at least 1/2 of the print run are 9.8 candidates and higher, although for Todd #1, I'm not sure how prevalent the spotting on the left side of the front cover are, and whether CGC would consider that a printing defect or downgrade the book.

Get a loupe and look at the bottom left corner. All mine look like a head of cabbage. Even my slabbed 9.8

    I mean this:

Notice the spotting on the man's suit? I this this particular defect was pretty common with the run.

Yeah its prevelent on issue 1 I have I think 2 or 3 like that except to a smaller degree.

If it's a prevalent and known time of printing error/smudge....does cgc knock it down when grading on something like this?

That issue 5 TODD compared to Walking Dead 49 is an interesting analysis.

  2. there's no "nice" way to say this, but how do we go about making sure that a ton of the TPBs get sold?

    Thinking hm

I'll get 3...but know when the merchandise comes around...that will put coinage in Perker/Ken's pockets as the action figures could be a real honey hole. If I am buying 3 trades...I'll be buying 10 action figures for gifts. When sales of the action figure get started as well as the other merch.....I see a BIG light bulb going off over Ken/Perker's heads. "Monies" bulb. MOARRRRRRRR

Oh, and $50 for #1 first printing? Really? That was so like 2 days ago! Hockey Stick parabolic could be very possible near future on these issues. 5000 print on 1B? Noice. I'm in. Dreamlandcomics wants some crazy $36 already on it 1B. I'd need to get a first job to afford that.

Although I've seen that quite a bit on the #1 first print, I don't believe I have a single one like that myself (kinda ink transfer look/spotting). Simply trying to add some personal experience if that helps.

Some of the white back cover TODD's can be shelf wear/scuff mark magnets. Not looking at my issues right now, but look at the backs' boys.

  5. thinking about selling 20 sets as a lump lot - all unread, bagged boarded. what should I ask for?

    Kidding answer - Double cover

    Fair asking price - $1,000 - $1,200 ($50 - $60 per set bulk wholesale if retail is $100)

I would probably pay close to that so not a bad estimate IMO

We already have $600 for 10 #1s completed sale. And I didn't get the feeling that those were extreme high grade or anything. Also sold in about 2 days. In other words, those numbers are far too low. Besides, Zeta has already placed an ad (heat test?) for $250 for 1-4 issues (no reprints included).

It would be a Wal-mart Black Friday I'm going to run over yo arse at the front door when they let us in at figures like $1200 for 20 sets 1-4.

  6.

hm Todd's fate is being discussed at this exact moment

Meeting this morning with producers went really well -- they're also committing to merchandise. How much and what exactly remains to be seen. Tee shirts will be first and I pitched them some ideas including "In Todd We Trust" -- good stuff.

    WOW, rockin kewl brah!

Already know they will love themselves some TODD action figure/Bobblehead merchandise.

Looking forward to hearing more about TODD's relationship with the chosen TV studio, animators and such when those further details can be discussed.

  7. Ken....if this evolves into toys or action figures, I would like to see a TODD bobble head for my work truck's dash ;-)

Man you nailed it. I've been a HUGE proponent of Ken putting together an action figure..MULTIPLE ones. Even have wanted to get a pol going here (still do) of what fans would want to see in a TODD action figure. My top votes would be:

    1. Bobblehead TODD (nod to Derbyfan70!)

    2. Flexible TODD (like Gumby). Can manipulate him into some funny positions.

    3. TODD with baghead popup (bag can pop up about a centimeter making his eyes disappear..but NOT show his face...just neck slightly. lol

I think TODD action type figure would be MASSIVE.

  8. "And it's gone!"

A strong start outta the gate..and yet we are still waiting on further confirmation and details from Ken/Image that can only improve the positive vibes in my opinion.

Anyone know how to see completed sales of BEST OFFERS on ebay? Previously I changed the completed auction url from ebay.com to ebay.ca and was able to see the actual ACCEPTED price. Just not working for me anymore. There are a couple of offers on some sky high priced TODD's and I want to see the finalized ACCEPTED price if and when they sell.

  9. oh thank god i just bought 1-4 for 90 bucks. i dont feel so bad now..

$90??????????? Spoon! OK, I give in...going to go paralyze my eyeballs via ebay. Taking Mary Jane with me. Hmm, how possible is it that these prices can sneak up on the old Sixth Gun highs (?) Hope not too soon or new readers may be priced out of owing/reading them.

"Note to self: TPB on the way soon." :applause:

  10. @kayakkid

I gotta give you props b/c you've been die-hard TODD since day one (thumbs u

I agree. I always thought he was Ken's crazy brother in disguise. :baiting:

Thanks Ryan & thelastword! Feels good seeing something unique from its genesis and knowing 1000% it is very special. There would be one heck of a long list if we put together all the amazing things this character can be "put through". It's endless....and maintains originality.

Also, for those not around from the start, Ken 2 cent has given us a bit of a peek into his TV connections and getting other projects moving forward. It's a no-brainer with how good of a writer Ken is and Perker's artwork REALLY fits the bill!

    Holding my breath for:

    0. TODD limited edition ACTION figure (or Gumby flexible!!!)

    1. TODD alien abduction story

    2. TODD bigfoot encounters while snipe & butterfly hunting (lol)

    3. TODD Skull & Bones secret society initiation (new arc will be interesting!)

Doesn't hurt that my name is also Todd. ;)

Prices could very well go completely parabolic on the first few issues if we get some solid production (timeframe) news.

Oh, and I AIN"T giving up on The Sixth Gun going to TV or Movie too. You know how vocal I've been on that as well. :)

  11. Todd #1 @ $41. The bidding seems legit and it might be because the guy's wife has cancer. Dunno.

At this point, the number of bidders and the total bid count are even more impressive.

I venture a guess that this will sell for considerably more. I doubt bidders are going to be quite as patient as they were in the first 1-2 months after The Sixth Gun TV announcements (waiting to see if the prices would scale up...and then regretting not buying in when the prices went parabolic).

As with The Sixth Gun, some really nice investable low print runs #1-4.

    A 9.8 #1 already sold for $100 shipped a few months back.

Issue 2 has lowest and might see a price increase if news of the show attracts more readers who want a complete set. (thumbs u

+1. Hardest to find relative to the others.

Interesting. I know a couple of stores that still have #2s available. Is it worth grabbing extra copies?

Uhh, that would be an affirmative good buddy. PM me if you can pass along a tip if you pickup what ya need for yourself. I could use a couple. Lowest print run.

Mcfarlane not answering TODD calls. Phhfff.

"Todd, start answering TODD's calls! Or get kicked to the curb!"

Can't wait for the action figure! Also need limited edition with hat boing spring--your kinda GI Joe with the kung fu grip sweetness. lol

Heh-heh-heh. Just got this from MK. Inks for cover of #7...Hell is Heaven.

This cover has the feel of an Albrecht Durer to me, love it! Ken, any way we could get a virgin variant of this issue?!!

Bingo Lovebeer!!!! I was kicking myself trying to think which historical artist (pencils or carvings) this drawing reminded me of. Wow, I never even heard of M.K. Perker before TODD The Ugliest Kid on Earth!

    Good time for a plug:

And WOW, been saying from the start that the TODD comic reads much like a made for TV sitcom. Really hopefully something comes through Ken on the TV front! Oh yeah....(and don't throw any tomatoes at me) been waitinggggg on my action figure!! That has gotta be a big success. Sure buyers will purchase multiples for gifts. A Godzilla action figure will be starring down TODD on my desk I hope SOON ready to scorch his bag!
