I read Pax Romana when it came out. Along with Nightly News, Transhuman and Red Mass For Mars and I loved all of the series, but Pax Romana was my favorite.
Catholic church time travel and Constantine with tanks and jets. Very cool story.

I scored 5 of these this morning. Some seem to be going for a little higher.
This one is limited to 1500 so i think it will for sure be a hard one to track down.
If you have a Hastings around, it shouldn't be too tough. My Hastings is one of the mid sized stores and they got 5 in.

I should have already left this, but I just wanted to say that you were awesome to work with.
Very fast payment and no problems at all. Glad you like the book!

Really? Mad Men, Breaking Bad.do you guys think scalped being optioned by "WGN America" makes it more or less likely to succeed?I feel like the bigger guys are more likely to drop something once started, but they also are more likely to spend the money necessary to make something successful. It kind of cuts both ways.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any AMC original series "hits" before Walking Dead came along, so maybe lightning strikes?
Never watched either. That's why I said "off the top of my head"
Try getting your head out of your ?
Wow.

Right!?
That was super bi-polar.

American Vampire has to be next, right?

Thanks for the tip. I was ignoring for a few days because I thought it might have been a fluke but then issue #2 popped up at $40 and I was like, "wtf?". So that answers that question.
Why The Face ? My kids tell me I'm becoming very hip...
One of my favorite lines from a TV show.

The early TMNT IDWs are still selling extremely well. I bought a run from 1-10 (with all the #1 covers and a couple of extras) plus the first four micro-series issues for $80, and they're closing now.
Let's just say that was a good 2 week flip.
I'm about to list my #1-#22. 8 of the issues are signed and remarked by Eastman. No 5A though....

I'll never understand some of this bleeding heart mentality on the boards. I get that some of you want to find the best in people, which is a wonderful trait. But that's wholly different from just ignoring facts. Jop messed up and is now.
In the two months since the holiday raffle, he started I think 7 sales threads, sold over $1k, and spent for himself over $300 (which would've been more than enough to cover shipping of all the raffle items he offered). He's also been participating in discussions all over the boards, with no hint or mention of distress from what I could see.
So the excuse here of 'personal issues' and the one he gave Lance of 'broke ' just don't fly. I get people have lives outside of the boards, that unfortunately can get bad. But to use the personal issue excuse to cherry pick how it affects your actions on the boards is extremely disingenuous.
I think this is the point of the whole thing. I would have never brought any of this up had it not been for this.

I really want jop to address all this and if there is some explanation, then I'll be very sorry about getting all of this started.
However, when you are supposed to be sending things out and you are buying things at the same time that you're telling people you don't have the money to send the stuff out, then I don't see how there could be an explanation.

From what I can tell, he might not be around anymore. His last post was a few days ago and he hasn't read my last PM.
-
I think from my end, the whole situation is fine. I let people know and a couple of really cool people stepped up with some very generous offers.
-
Ha! Well, if people want to give me some hell about it, that's their prerogative. No skin off my back. I just thought people would want to know. If for nothing else, than to not have him in the raffle next year.
-
I think there was a 1 year membership for the gift exchange, which got you into the raffle automatically.
For people that weren't in the gift exchange, you just had to donate a gift.
I donated some cool stuff. A sketch, a WD variant and a really cool trade. However, when I sent the box, I sent it full of all kinds of other stuff.

Can people be added for not sending out raffle prizes?
Actually can people be added for not sending out raffle prizes (at least 3 or 4 different ones) because they have "money trouble" and then in that time be buying books from sales threads?

With Stephen King's blessing, an American Vampire show won't surprise me.
Sooner than Later.
I sure hope you're right. I got 7 copies of #1 today for $1 a piece.
-
Hopefully with all of the Vertigo love from the studios, we'll see something happen with Scalped and American Vampire soon.
-
I know this goes around and around, but I know that #648 has typically sold for more because it's the first full appearance.
I've been snagging #647 though.
-
...So, what is the deal with Spoiler then?
Luckily, I bought Tec #647 last week and I have a couple copies of #7.
Worth snagging a few copies of #28 today?
-
Also, re: Batman #28, look for Batman #7 to start gaining more traction...
Detective Comics 647 too.
This is the first Spoiler issue, right?
Isn't she supposed to be in Batman Eternal?
Yep, and who's to say Spoiler isn't in Bats #28, to tell you would be a Spoiler. Bats #28 is gonna be hawt.
Are you saying that maybe...
Spoiler is the new Robin?

So much shill it makes me ill
For sure. It looks like more than one account that was bidding is a shill.
That book just isn't at that level yet. I'm seeing them sell for up to $225 though, which is insane.

Alias for what it was brillant at the time. I re-read 1 the other day and I still like it. I like it more today then I did back then prolly because I hated Bendis back then.
Its going to be the easiest to make a TV show in my opinion because it doesnt need as much and can be easiest to relate to I think.
Speaking of Alias heating up . . . . linky-dink
That's a good read.
Nice sale, rabnuD. (thumbs u
It was a best offer acceptance right? so we still dunno how much it went for....I just raised my price but they all passed me over and I have one for 17.99
$70
Just go to the main page of the listing and click "print" and it will show you the offer price.

These are just the issues I bought originally and sold to my buddy. He's in the middle of a move, so he sold them back to me at a good price. Luckily, Kevin Eastman was cool enough to sign the first 6 issues and draw a little turtle on them.
Anyone have any clue what kind of extra value that would add?
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

I've had a ton of luck so far grabbing up copies of the Hastings sketch. I grabbed at least 3 copies at 5 different stores in the last few days.
