  1. I've been looking for a way to display all of my new Dells. I would love to get my hands on one of those.
  2. I'm pretty sure it's mostly the A covers that are doing good. Specifically 1A and 5A. Not sure why both of those, but those are the ones I know of. I would call it a premium for me, since I got all 30+ issues for around $50 and I plan to sell for around $200.
  3. Some really nice additions lately. Pics coming asap. Modern: TMNT IDW Series #1 - #23, both Micro Series' and Foot Clan (#1 - #6 are all signed and sketched by Kevin Eastman) Preacher #1 X2 in about 9.4/9.6 Absolute Vertigo in about 9.8 SA/GA: Four Color #197 Zane Grey's Spirit of the Border Four Color #230 Zane Grey's Sunset Pass Four Color #606 Sir Lancelot Four Color #701 Jiminy Cricket Zane Grey's King of the Royal Mounted #18 Boy Illustories #70 The Rifleman #8 Bugs Bunny Vacation Funnies #2 Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies #79 Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies #106 Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies #119 Roy Rogers and Trigger #707 Flash Gordon (King) #10 Flash Gordon (Gold Key) #19 Flash Gordon (Gold Key) #21 Flash Gordon (Gold Key) #23 Flash Gordon (Whitman) #24
  4. It's still blowing my mind how good the IDW TMNT books are doing. I just picked up issues #1 - #25, all micro series and Foot Clan from a buddy of mine. The best part is that the first 6 issues are all signed and sketched with a little turtle sketch by Eastman. Not even sure where to start on this one. Also snagged 2 copies of Preacher #1 yesterday as well as an Absolute Vertigo and got copies of The Strain #1 - #4 today at Hastings.
  5. Glad I never did any business with this kid. Really makes his PMs of "WHYD YOU REMOVE YOURSELF FROM OUR CONVERSATION!!!!" make sense.
  6. Over the past couple of weeks I have got quite a few things from Frank. Everything I got, even something from the pay it forward thread was packaged very, very good, shipped super fast and in the exact condition stated. He even threw in a freebie for me on my more recent purchase. Will definitely continue to purchase from topcat!
  7. Just got volume 1 and volume 2 hardcovers in the mail. Will check back in when I've had a chance to read. I've read the first couple of issues before, so I'm definitely excited to read further.
  8. Just picked up my first silver age book. So pumped for this! I've wanted to get into collecting Four Color and The Rifleman is my all time favorite western, so this Rifleman #1 / Four Color #1009 was perfect.
  9. Gah!! What a great submission. Love that GL 85! Not a ton of those in that grade.
  10. Agree he's overhyped........but Hawkeye is still a great book Completely agree. Hawkeye is the only thing of his I've ever liked. But man, is Hawkeye good or what? Five Fists of Science ruled.... For the most part his work for hire material suckles. I would like to read more of his indy stuff. I could never really get into Casanova though.

  12. Don't talk about what you have for sale in any other thread except your sales thread. Learned the hard way
  13. Black Science Hastings Variant is selling really well for me at double the cost. I've bought quite a few of these. If anyone buys them, DO NOT pay $4.99. It comes up that way on their computer, but right on the front cover $3.50 is printed. I make them sell it to me for $3.50 every time. I assume you are talking about at a store? Yeah...Hastings.

  15. Black Science #2 Cover A seems to be doing pretty well. Black Science #2 Cover A $11.95 Black Science #2 Cover A $12.99
  16. Poor Chuck Connors. I've really got to get some of these Rifleman comics. My absolute favorite western TV show.
  17. $3.00 document frames from Target (black plastic frame body with glass front), a few cents each for ink and paper = a $20 display that everybody who comes over gets up close to check out I may not own 'em (the 'tecs, Startling 49 and Spirit 22, anyway), but I'm just telling myself these are placeholders until I do buy my own copies. 100% agree! Many facets of collecting make this hobby great. If you appreciate a great cover for the art, why not blow it up and display it? I have large 13x19 prints of some of my favorite covers waiting patiently to be displayed one I finish our basement. Yours look great! I agree. Those look great. I bought the DC Poster book that has a lot of great covers that I hang on the walls. I'll also buy frames and use them for gifts for my buddies and my nephew.
  18. When I was buying the issues, I always happened to like cover B the most, so I ended up with all of those.
  19. I agree, I don't mind his site. It does say on there that A+X #14 is Max Bemis' first published work though. Probably a little more research would make the site even better.
  20. A Complete Lowlife is early work by him. He writes and draws and it's not that great, but it is really interesting. It's autobiographical about him doing drugs and stuff like that.
  21. For the month it lasted, the DC 3D covers were a great gold mine. I walked into a Hastings book store today and they still have a few DC 3D cover books on the shelf for cover price. Just proves your point on how quickly they died.... All books are always cover price at Hastings. They did die, but a book just being cover at Hastings has nothing to do with it. Hastings just doesn't know/care about their comic book section. That's the reason I ended up with 20 copies of Sixth Gun at the height of it's value. +1 on the Sixth Gun selection at Hastings. I'd bet there are still copies of #1 at some locations that missed the bubble completely. My brother and I easily moved through 20 copies as well. And I just found out about the Hastings store chain about a month ago through a Facebook page. They don't have any stores in Illinois (where I moved here from). And my point was that there are still DC 3D cover books on their new release rack. Ah..that's definitely the case. Hastings is my number one store for picking up books. The best thing is that if I call the one in my town and they have the book I'm looking for, that means that almost every other Hastings has the same book. They also will order the most random books. Found 3 sets of Number Cruncher there the other day. Also, I know there's still a copy of TSG #1 at a store in OK and one in Alexandria, LA.

  23. You're going to sell me one for cover, right?
