  1. Dell Otto does have a great style, in my opinion but his "hot" will settle in, and he is no different that when Ross or other modern greats got hot, it will settle and already has. As for that Cap #1 Its Pretty as XXXX!! Cap #1-7 are just unreal.
  2. J Honestly man you have a CAP #1, your moderns will never ever touch that book! If i had a CAP #1 i would never argue on the boards, heck if I had a CAP #1 I would not even argue with the wife.
  3. This! Scarcity aside. Batman, Superman and silver age spider-man! The price is on a recent accent. As AF 15 gets more unreachable, people are going for the next best thing and a #1 that lead off a historic run is a good place to go. Unlike batman #1 and Superman #1, AMS #1 is a second appearance. I think its going to keep being expensive and in relative terms has always been valuable. Scarcity aside the second appearance as a #1 is a huge factor. I think Action #2 or next cover appearance or Tec #28 or next cover appearance would be a better peer group. Iron Man #1 is a modern in comparison .
  4. Book should have to be on the market for 10-15 years before you can compare them. Some of these you listed just got hot in last 5 years(90's like bubble), they have not even had a down cycle. Wolverine #145 is a 20 year old book that has seen some price cycles. Every book you listed went up 200- 500 percent from 2013 not one (1) down cycle. For some reason all books that you mentioned had huge increases at the same time! Your a numbers guy, can you really have a fair average that has only seen an up cycle?
  5. I see some of these modern "keys" going for big money and I just don't get the logic behind some of them. A modern comic with ZERO key elements can be a $10,000 book because its a low print run? Please spend that same 10 grand on a silver key right now and lets compare that in five years. I mean I am a sucker for gimmicks and 9.9 books and Variants but they are established books with a key elements that are in higher demand, than a fad, low print modern. It just seems like a risky investment. I am also of the school that there needs to be more copies than less copies to even make a book wanted. If there is only 30 copies of a random book will demand really increase? If it was a first appearance , key, classic story or killer art, I would say yes, but with out that . . This is my opinion and For those that own these books I guess its the point of entry or the collectible aspect that matters to them.
  6. You cant get a blue label with an UN-witnessed signature. The only exceptions to this are old inside cover signatures and they still do not get verified.
  7. Welcome to the boards! The first book could do good with a press. The signature on the #2 would Make the book not worth slabbing . good luck. CGC offers pressing as well as many people here.
  8. Yes time to buy this was last week. Its only going to keep climbing.
  9. Should not even be in the same conversation. 1st appearances and classic covers are apples and oranges.
  10. Andy, Your a good seller. I have had horrible experiences shipping to Canada. I have lost serious money shipping to Canada. Maybe shipping to The US is a little easier than shipping into your country. Your incoming Custom's are a Joke, They have even been known to pop open slabs. Its a crxp shoot! and when shipping higher value books , no thanks. I get your point But I don't think its because of filling out some extra paper work. I have never had an issue Getting books from Canada But Horrible , horrible odds getting them in ! Mark them as a gift, try this try that... NOPE more than happy just not shipping to Canada. I also really don't think it is meant as disrespectful or treating anyone like a 2nd class citizen Canadians are awesome but your customs departments are not!
  11. I think it matters. Grade for grade I think FF5 will always be worth more CAsh!
  12. Any references? No offense but 3 posts and a wire transfer 22,000 sale is a little scary.
  13. It could overtake AF 15 . A lot less copies of FF #1 out there.
  14. True first appearance comic over a 100th appearance. Cover wise , that's opinion.
  15. I would say that DD#1 is more key than avengers #4
  16. I would also tell them that you discussed it and got their contact info from the CGC boards. Also as much as this Harry Spencer guy is pushing Comic connect, I would not let that steer you away from comic connect either. Vincent is a helpful decent dude. He for sure would get you in the right direction. My opinion , If it matters, keep doing your homework and don't ship a book until you fully understand it. Shipping can hurt you really bad if not done right. Again contact Gator or Bob storms on the boards they might help you feel more comfortable. Good luck and congrats ! Also... If you can protect those books asap and really watch tape or anything around them, even handling them wrong can cause dents and dings that will lower your grades.
