  1. I guess I won't be submitting anytime soon to CGC until this gets rectified. They lost my business for now.
  2. Checkmate indeed. I apologize to Kevin Eastman because I just glanced at the picture and didn't know it was him. I would say it's a very expensive ad page of the turtles, even though it's not considered a comic book. If you can prove something like this, that's fine I guess for the first or second person down the line trying to sell them. What's stopping someone, down the line, to reproduce those Gobbledygooks and pass the fakes ones as the genuine ones with the signature letters and with the picture of Kevin Eastman of himself? As the Riddler says, "Riddle me this, riddle me that!" That's right Batman. That's why I stick with real books. Kevin Eastman should have talked to CGC and just flat out told them "What do I need to do for you guys to accept these Gobbledygooks?" Then it would be slabbed. I guess maybe he tried that and then had to resort to picture taking. I guess this can go on forever about these Xerox copies, but anyways I apologize to Kevin Eastman once again for not recognizing him in the beginning. Thanks for creating the turtles. I love them. Whoever buys them, have fun and enjoy.
  3. I'm looking at the signature from the letter and some of the CGC signatures what Kevin Eastman actually signed. From the letter, Kevin's T is jagged at the bottom and the CGC signatures are not. On the letter of Kevin's signature, the line in the 'K' passes thru, but on his other CGC signatures, they do not. And on the letter, Kevins 'K' is separated from the other signature, but on the CGC sigantures, they are close together. The letter can be genuine, but I see differences in the signature. Maybe he uses two kinds of signatures. I only use one form of signature, and if I'm tired or not, they usually look the same. That's why the Gobbledygooks will always be a problem. Maybe you can contact Kevin himself if he is approachable one day and see if did sign the letter. In the meantime, I'll be somewhere in the sewers.
  4. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh NO! Notary please!!!! I can write that letter and say it was from him. If I was in Dale's shoes, I would go out and notarize my letter showing my copies of the books, and then I would fake Kevin's letter. What's the difference. I've watched to many shows with fake COA's (certificate of authenticity) and fake signature's. Then again, if I had a close Uncle, who's a notary, and we can conspire, he can notarize my copy of Kevin's signature as well. So what's real and what's not. A real comic book I guess. Only way to do it right would be to have a notary with a picture of you and Kevin, and when the Gooks gets passed down to a new owner, another notary with the picture of previous and new owners, and so forth. Really cumbersome I say.
  5. Some one is selling a set of Gobbledygooks here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOBBLEDYGOOK-1-2-TEENAGE-MUTANT-NINJA-TURTLES-TMNT-EASTMAN-PIC-LETTERS-/130963144383?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item1e7e02febf#ht_4535wt_1170 For those of you who might want to buy these. He wants $15,000. For me, I think those letters should have been notarized by a professional. Just me.
  6. I'll be happy to upgrade to 9.4. $30,000 can only be paid at two times the market value if there was only one 9.8 out there.
  7. For Archon_Turtle response about the "copier fade" in the Gobbledygook #1 and #2. I think if a criminal can produce a good looking fake $100 bill nowadays (Episode of American Greed), I think someone can produce a simple Gobbledygook #1 or #2 look a like. With todays computer technology and the printers that are out there, it can be done.
  8. $30,000 for a TMNT #1 first issue. If I had the money I offer $13,000. There were only 3 at 9.8 when one sold for $22,000. Now there's 13 out there at 9.8. Not worth $30,000. Not now for sure. Looks good though by a mile. <3
  9. Here's Casey Jones as Rambo. I don't remember what issue this was. Have to go to each copy and to find out. Pen and ink by Eric Talbot as an interior page (15" X 20").
  10. That's how a TMNT turtle suppose to look like. Awsome.
  11. Nice copies. Really good third printing at 9.8.
  12. The brave and the bold #28 had an ad page just like the TMNT had, an ad page. Just that. So why is it in the same ballpark then. Sounds to me like a speculation market for the Gobbledybook #1 and #2 amongst TMNT fans only. Only TMNT fans have those copies right?
  13. Yeah, to me their worthless I guess. For someone else, they're seeing dollar signes in their eyes. I probably shouldn't have made that "worthless" statement. It's now at $4,050. I guess the reserve is very high. You're right Ryan, It's their money, they can do what they want with it. But, photocopies are not comic books. It's like high rollers at Las Vegas. They lose millions like it was an after thought.
  14. It's get me upset because he's trying to sell them for $24,000 to sum sucker with no knowledge of PGX. Like the old saying goes, a fool is born everyday. Then comic books gets a bad rap. Like we need the comics meltdown of the late 1990's all over again. Just saying.
  15. Just for laughs. Here is what I sent the guy who was selling the Gobbledygook #1 and #2 at $24,000 at the time. I sent him a message thru Ebay's mail system: "Good luck in selling these Xerox copies. I wouldn't classify these as comic books at all. I wouldn't touch these at all. Time will tell. The guys at the studios screwed up. They should have personaly signed and numbered them by hand. To me their worthless paper they were copied on. Only the original art are worth anything, and this is coming from a TMNT fan. All comic book price guides should delist them as such. Thanks for your time." And his response: "Haha funny but these are the real deal. No need to be jealous. And I am also a huge Tmnt fan and know their true value. No need to respond, thanks." Well guys. "The real deal." I know from personal experience "the real deal" is a CGC 9.8 graded copy of TMNT #1 first print at universal grade, and CGC 9.6 graded copy of Turtlemania Gold at qualified grade. Those are "the real deal." I'm sorry, but PGX should not authenticate these Gobbledygooks from 1984. If I send a PGX 9.2 graded Gobbledygook #1 to CGC, will CGC give me a graded CGC 9.2 Gobbledybook? I don't think so. They will send it back to you.
  16. Rwhorn, so you submiitted them to PGX and they authenticated them. How did PGX know if they were real or not? The leading industry CGC can't authenticate it so they leave it alone. That's why CGC leaves pressing alone as not being restored. They can't authenticate pressing on a consistent level I think if a collector wants to pay for them as such, don't expect the Gobbledygooks to up in price like regualr comic books over time. It might go the opposite until they reach a nice price level. mschmidt is correct.
  17. Here's your chance to buy xerox copies of these books. I can't believe PGX would grade these if the front runner CGC wouldn't touch these with a 100 foot pole. Ebay item number 290963948473 http://www.ebay.com/itm/290963948473?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_178wt_1170 It's at $2,025 and the reserve has not been met yet. A week ago this person wanted $24,000 for the pair. Maybe he wanted to know much people are willing to pay for xerox copies. Personally, I remember a time that me and a few other TMNT fans were looking for these books, I mean books as in comic books. You know the ones that go thru a printing press and colors are added to the books. At the time TMNT #1 was going for $400 and Gobbledygook #1 and #2 were also $400 each. That must have been the mid 1990's. No one ever saw the Gobbledygooks, so no one, including myself, didn't know that they were produced by xerox copying them and then hand stapling them by hand. People thought they were actual comic books until 2004? that Mirage publishing came forward and told everyone that these were not printed the traditional way as all comic books were printed, but were photocopies and hand stapled. I think the Gobbledygook #1 and #2 gained that high price because people thought they were actual comic books, so the price of these books stayed mostly consisted with the TMNT #1 issue first print. Price guides were also consisted with that as well. I don't know why price guides are listing these as comic books and keeping them in the price guides. Are there other photocopies of books being stapled together by hand in the price guides. If there are i would loike to know and just keep quite about Gobbledygook #1 and #2. To bad the artists didn't number them by hand and then signed them. That would have been better like what they did with the Turtlemania gold editions. You can't go wrong with that. I'm not trying to bash these Gobbledygooks #1 and #2, and they do belong to be part of TMNT universe, but if CGC can't tell if a copy of Gobbledygook #1 or #2 was the actual photocopies that were produced in 1984, I think I will spend my money on something else, like a real comic book for now. What do you guys think? Sorry for the rant. I'm usually not like this.
  18. Thanks for responding "Moogle_kupo." Yeah, I had that copy bagged and boarded for the first few years until I decided to take the board out and use a hard comic book mylar holder. I would insert the bagged comic book upside down so the opening would be down and inside the comic book mylar holder, hoping the heat or moisture wouldn't get to it. Since 1997, I kept in complete darkness and in the closet all those years, especially away from the window. I guess that worked fine.
  19. Looks like a rat feeding inside of the can. You can even see it's wavy tail. Awsome! Their protecting one of Splinters relatives.
  20. I think each base came with each Ninja Turtle, and you put them together as a puzzle in that order. I love these particular statues of them. The good old look that started it all. I just love them.
  21. Welcome to the club jjfversion1. Can't wait to see your 8.5.
  22. Love your statues. Never understood why they always have to deviate the way the turtles are drawn. Like the old look better, or it's only me. I don't mind Jim Lawson's work.
  23. Yes, it looks like a 9.4 from the picture, but I think beacause there's one small front cover ding when you hold a cover at a high angle which caused a color break (not by me of course), and maybe on the back bottom edge corner there is a slight color break (not from folding such as creases and maybe from rubbing). Still not bad I think.
  24. Just got my graded copy of TMNT #1. You can remove one of my raw copies (page 70) from the list and replace it with this one. I thought it was a 9.0, and it turned out to be a 9.2.
