  1. So if I create my own cover then I can do the same thing correct?
  2. @CGC Mike I doubt this will matter much but I must say your company’s response is the worst thing I’ve seen in all the years you’ve been operating. Although I don’t slab a ton of books, I have been fiercely loyal to CGC and never used another company. When turn around times were long, rates were going up, or notes were being taken off labels, I would stick up for you guys saying “well they are the best, they ARE the gold standard.” But there is no standing up for this one. This shows a lack of integrity.
  3. Exactly. What’s the process for the rest of us to mutilate dollar books and staple on covers? We all want a piece of the action.
  4. So Mike, just to confirm, I have a few hundred facsimile editions I bought when I liquidated a comic shop going out of business a couple years ago. Can I manufacture my own acetate cover and attach it to them as part of a manufacturing process? Even though I think it is stupid, it seems that the market is there for this so what process do we need to follow to be able to do the same thing that Black Flag did?
  5. She deleted this statement. I like Adam and while I don't know Danielle real well (only met her once back in probably like 2018 at one of the Chicago shows) and she struck me a a very nice person, but it is weird she would delete it. My guess is that a lot of people that bought them did NOT know it was just a facsimile with another homemade cover stapled on. Now you are in the situation where you have 10-15 copies of essentially a bootleg comic you are sitting on. My advice would be to: 1) Recycle them and take a stand against bootleg comics; or 2) Sell them at sticker price to the people who wanted them (or at a slight premium) and donate the proceeds to a charity. Being associated with something like this in a tight knit community like ours isn't a good idea. I'm no influencer dealer or whatever, but I wouldn't want my name any where near this whole thing.
  6. His art is soooooo good. I'm biased because he is a Michigan based guy like me, but good lord are his pencils sick.
  7. This ended up being a VERY nice 2 day show. It had only been a 1 day show in the past so I wasn't sure what to make of it being 2 days for the first time but there were a lot of good comic AND toy dealers there. I was able to score some nice buys and attendance seemed strong. I would guess 4-5K. Both the comic and toy dealers seemed to be happy. Also, next year the show is DOUBLING in size as they are renting out both sides of the DORT Financial arena (It is a hockey arena with 2 spaces) so it might be even better. Tagging @1Cool @Motor City Rob and @catrick339 for awareness.
  8. Nice buy. Had I seen this sooner I would have been all over it! Enjoy it, very cool item!!!
  9. Everyone please check this booth out. Best booth at Motor City this year and I’m sure they will make a strong case for best at this show too.
  10. I went last year and had a blast!
  11. I smell a cage match between @lizards2 and @catrick339 on this one.
