Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Aweandlorder replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
That's what I was thinking. Bane is more well known and appeared in two movies. What's a Vengeance of Bane 1 9.8 go for? Can the first appearance of "Copycat" get to half that? Apples to oranges.. Bane is a villain, so if anything, you could compare him to Angel Dust.. Copycat is (to directly quote from the book) "nothing, if not a woman capable of providing men incentives to do what she wants them to" That is very much in tune with current market demographic readers And it depends who's cast . . . Or if the character is ever cast. TOTALLY agree, as I said before, the point of buying into X-Factor 19 was only at the 0.50 - 1.00 price level.. you could probably find Deadpool circle chase 1-4 as a set for around 20.00-30.00, which is a good investment just as an early Deadpool book regardless of Copycat's appearance or not.. Anything more than that is a little more involved.. I've been a little surprised that the 2 Deadpool miniseries #1 both go for less that the ongoing. One came out in 1993 and the other in 1994. One of them is also Mark Waid's 1st work at Marvel. Both of these seem like a bigger deal than the ongoing #1 to me. I'm somewhat of a novice Deadpool collector so I'm sure I'm missing something. What is it ? Im guessing the print run.. But not sure -

+1.. Nothing is "unfair".. If I wanted a poster of Gwen/Silk and lived 50 miles from a LCS which offered them free I'd pay $10 to get it shipped to my door thank you -

Rat Queens - Kurtis J. Wiebe, Meg Dejmal, John Upchurch
Aweandlorder replied to buddymagoo's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Very interesting.. Since day one I compared Rat Queens to TMNT in terms of potential.. Its kinda ironic that TMNT is referenced in that article indirectly, im sure that was not coincidental.. Either way.. Im not surprised that this is in the works, even as Kurt said, before PP.. THIS WILL BE MADE INTO A SERIES - It will not shock me to hear that a pilot has been approved and ordered into a series - no brainer. RQ is very current in terms of market demographics. Fresh, and innovative. I think that folks dont really understand yet how big of a following this book has -

correct you are ..I just went by the Marvel Copycat notes and overlooked #2.. Im gonna make scans of 2 tonight and tell you my findings.. In any event.. those are all early appearances.. and IF in fact Copycat will play alongside Deadpool in te movie, those will be no brainer investment books at their current price.. Or maybe its a bit too late already on some (cough cough X-Force 19 cough) -

I believe Deadpool Circle Chase #3 is first FULL appearance.. First time you see her on several pages, named Vanessa Carlysle, Copycat and we know what her powers are.. All in one book.. Go get it! -

Wouldn't X-force 20 (vol. 1) be a better comic to get? XF 19 only has 1 panel of Copycat called Vanessa. Or is this the old mis-direction? Get forumites to buy XF 19 while we secretly buy 30 copies of XF 20? No. She doesnt appear on #20 at all.. only as an impersonation of Tina Valentino: http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Force_Vol_1_20 -

+1 Comedic value aside, isnt purchasing a .50 book before it explodes the BEST investment in the hobby? Collectors seem to always wanna buy an overvalued book and get the biggest key.. but margin wise, thats more money invested and more of a risk.. I much rather get 20 X-Force 19 at $10-20 and possibly flip at 100-200.00 than a NM98 @ 200.00+ per copy.. If I lose on 20.00 I can live with that.. Doesnt hurt the bank.. I do that with most books that I purchase for investment purposes only Just my opinion -

Aweandlorder replied to Jackhartmann's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Chalk both of them up to the deadly combination of a misleading picture + bidders too dumb to read Think I will post an auction with a group shot of 30 copies (listing for one book) and see if I can get $1000+ Court, how many copies of that book do you have? Did you go on a Bonnie and Clyde like spree to all the LCS in your area? Or did you hijack an unsuspecting UPS guy? Why cant it be a UPS girl ?? -

I called it. Thank you. This will be a $20 by the official announcement Yes you did, I just saw the thread in Copper forum. So far I'm counting 15 copies sold today on ebay, all cheap of course. I'll be digging through longboxes and some dollar bins tomorrow I just checked to see if I have a few copies of X-Force #19. I found 69 of them. Good Lord Man! How did you accidentally amass 69 copies? I actually picked them up about 3 years ago. They were part of a bulk purchase of about 10,000 comics from a guy in Ada, Oklahoma. There was a smattering of Silver and Bronze but was mostly Copper and Modern. If I remember correctly I paid $800-$1,000 for the whole shebang. I had to rent a U-Haul van to transport them. I'll take a pic shortly. Here ya go: The title of this book plays well to your score - "The Dream - Divided!"
