  4. I buy the books still...will that get me in?!!! I've been advising the open pages to bump up all of the books I own for a few years buts it's to deaf ears on a serious note the market reports are the undoubtedly the best part of the book IMHO!!
  5. Another super cover to go in already super collection of classic cover issues! Ha! A few years ago I got this on ebay from boardie Action252Kid (ebay:blissard) a few weeks ago I traded it back to him and then you got it! Glad it stayed in the family! I wanted to collect nazi zombies for awhile, but had to narrow my focus. Thanks pal!! I'm glad it did too and Adams a pretty nice dude!! He's always coming up with neat stuff over on the Bay he's one of the few that still runs a ton of auctions and it is very efficient and fun...Love the Schomburg/WWII collecting focus BTW. (thumbs u

  8. Wow Gino what a snag! I remember when books like that went for "guide". They had very little interest. I grabbed them when I could find them but that ship has sailed. That is the last Gleason I think I need for that title. I just picked up this from a local guy in a trade. Love the "skull" spider in lower right corner. Thanks brother!! That is a fantastic copy you have there I too love the Skull Spider!!! (thumbs u
  9. Thanks Gents!!! (thumbs u You are right BP that Reds on that one are insane!!! Nice pickup!! Hold on be right back...Strange as it Seems I have a sudden urge to use the facilities after seeing Sqeggs book
  10. Happy to have finally landed a copy of this book last night off of the Bay...
  11. Did anything change on the list? And would this be a good time to discuss whether National #12 belongs on it? The image looks like a generic dictator, vaguely modeled after Hitler, but a pencil thin moustache and no swastika makes it seem doubtful IMHO. No new additions. I think there are a few that can be argued either way based on the position of the drawing & the artist ability/artistic take on Hitler. True. Good points have been raised about Blue Beetle #34. National #12 just doesn't look like Hitler to me. As an aside, I have used the name Hitler so many times in my posts that I'm probably on some NSA watch list. well if they look into it they will see that we just enjoy looking at one of the worst creations humanity ever produced...a, "dud" so to speak, get satired, humiliated, and pummeled by our forces of heroes all in the name of raising awareness and funds for the cause!! it truly is historic stuff and these funny books are going to turn into antiques sooner than later and You have got one of THE great collections out there pal!! (thumbs u
  12. banner, banner, banner SWING, banner! love it jimmy. you and I both!! Mooney definitely knocked this out the Park!
  13. My favorite ugliest cover of the GA.....nah......the plain ugliest. Period. significant book, however,...... the clock. First masked hero ol' Brian O'Brien strikes again!!

  17. Great list Frisco! We agree on a few i see, but it's always interesting to see the one's we don't. I guess you, Gino, Robot-Man, myself, and a few others will have to let it stew a bit and see what the 'definitive' list will be, much like most of the Timely crowd can agree upon. And even there there is a little disagreement sometimes. As our acquisitions grow, we can then maybe figure out which are the hardest to come by (which one's aren't?!?!) Thanks for participating, (thumbs u Thanks Sagii I love these books and thus, I HAD to participate I actually feel that we'll wind up with 2 lists: One of books that are hard to find in nice condition, one of books that are hard to find in ANY condition. For example, I just offered up a few under copies to some pals here on the boards. The Four Favorites 22 I sold was a vg & my upgrade is around a fine. The Super Mystery vol2 #4 I sold was a g/g- where my upgrade is only a g+ to g/vg. Of course SOME books exist in nice condition due to our luck that some of them exist from pedigree collections like the Church & Larson collections. I CAN say that one book in particular that seems common in nice condition is Super Mystery vol5 #4. Metro has 3 available copies right now. I just got a pretty sweet Four Favorites 22 from a pretty cool dude in the mail!! (thumbs u
  18. Cool books BB. Some of the other ones you posted, i'm lucky enough to have, but none of these. And that Robot cover one is TOUGH!! I can't state this enough!! BB's the Man!!! I like the Robot cover too I think Brave and the Bold 28 cover swiped it replacing the robot with Starro
  19. feel free to shoot me a PM whenever you are ready to part with this beauty It might even be too much of a beater for you Gino. The spine is shot. Looks OK in the mylar as long as you don't shake it. It seems to me that we have similar collecting interests. I really can't bring myself to spend what it takes anymore to get the high grade stuff. And, I don't thing it's going anywhere for a while but you will be next in line if I part with it.. we sure do pal!!! if you can see my sig line you will notice no grade is too low for this bottom feeder hehe thanks!!

  22. Ok folks, here is my top 10 Ace Hero cover list and I reserve the right to change it at any time 1. Our Flag #5 (This cover has it all in my opinion) 2. Four Favorites #12 (Nippo and Courageous battling atop the world over the Pacific – Ferstadt Perfection) 3. Banner Comics #4 (Dive Bomb!! Always loved covers with the heroes diving in to save the day/night…ala Our Flag #5/MMC #28 etc.) 4. Four Favorites #5 (whats not to like? Every hero has their own particular obstacle and Courageous is going about it head first) 5. Super Mystery Comics v3 #2 (Big green man with a blade, little green man with an arrow, skulls, bondage, war bond stamp, heck even the Clown found a way onto this gem!!) 6. Lightning Comics v2 #2 (almost a More Fun #54 classic feel to it…Larger than Life) 7. Banner Comics #3 (Simple…Love Captain Courageous he's my favorite Ace character) 8. Lightning Comics v2 #1 (Tight wire cover high over the streets with damsel in distress!! Also the colors are so neat on this one) 9. Four Favorites #13 (love the simplicity here plus the large Nippo/Clown heads) 10. Four Favorites #8 (Action packed awesomeness and its pink...how often do we see that?!!) So many Honorable Mentions out there its crazy to list them all but for starters… Banner Comics #5 Captain Courageous One Shot Four Favorites #10, #11, #20, #24 Super Mystery Comics (heck all the Clown covers) v1 - #2,#5,#6 v2 - #1, #2, #3 v3 - #4, #5 v5 - #3 v6 - #3 Our Flag #1 I know I listed a lot but that’s because so many are SOOO darn cool…gotta have em’ all right!!
