  1. I made a couple of great, and one superb acquisition today for Free Comic Book Day (all the stores are giving something like 20% off EVERYTHING in the store)... -The Uncanny X-Men #342 variant cover. My big win of the day, easily NM/NM+ condition -X-Men Volume 2 Issue 25 Mint with hologram intact -X-Factor #24, the first appearance of Archangel, in VF+/NM condition.
  2. From my LCS: X-Men Legacy 208-214, full divided we stand run, in NM or better per issue.
  3. I'm more interested in the box in storage labelled X-Factor THRU X-Men #244 Maybe there are some NM X-Men 100-138's in there!
  4. Modern Fast Track submitted through DWC at Calgary Comic Con. Confirmed shipped to CGC on Tuesday April 30. Out of my hands and sight until I get them back now But, I'm hoping 12-16 weeks overall (including duty and customs back into Canada)
  5. I don't often show this piece, as it's in my art folder that I keep completely out of sunlight and in a dry place. I got it over 6 years ago at the second Calgary Con I went to. It cost me an arm and a leg.... but.... (and yes, the lighting is horrible, the picture was taken in 2007 right after the Con, and I lived in a place that had red curtains)
  6. Can you believe that all he asked for was $100? Granted, I did drop about $600 on Aspen stuff over the weekend but that's besides the point! That's an EPICALLY detailed original. I kept joking with him that I should ask for a Sejic style Witchblade, at which point he tossed his pencil over his shoulder, threw his hands in the air and got up laughing to go get it. Only thing is, he pinged the president of the company in the head with it . The guys have such a great dynamic, Peter is the gruffer old guy, the pres looked like he was on a caffeine high all weekend, Cory and JT were jabbing each other with jokes.... I wish my work was that fun
  7. Only true comic book character commission I got this past weekend at Calgary Con, by Cory Smith of Aspen MLT, based on the original Turner concept: The photo doesn't do it justice. All that inking?? Done with a brush tip dipped into an ink bottle (for real!) My Adam Hughes head sketch of Rogue: If it counts, this is one of my own characters from a novel I've written and am working towards publishing. Her name is Desyrynel, drawn by freelance/UDON artist Eric Vedder, and she's not too happy in this image If this doesn't count, I can edit it out.
  8. Part 2 of my signatures from yesterday! -Street Fighter Legends: Ibuki beach variant (very rare, I got it because I know Omar Dogan on a first name basis, and he signed it as well) Jim Zubkavich -Batgirl New 52 #1-6 Adam Hughes Video of Adam signing: -Fearless Defenders #1-3 -Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha and Omega #1 and 2 Mark Brooks -X-Men Vol 3 #1-6, #20-23 Adi Granov -Magdalena/Angelus one-shot -Magdalena #1-3 with Turner and Silvestri variant covers for #1 -Internal page of Fathom Swimsuit Special 1999 Joe Benitez -Witchblade #56 (also signed by Francis Manapul), Origin Special -Dark Crossings 1 and 2 -Overkill 1 and 2 -Fathom Vol 1, zero edition, wizard zero edition -Fathom: Killian's Tide 1-4 Peter Steigerwald -Fathom #7-9, #12 dual covers, 13-14 Peter Steigerwald (he did graphic design on Fathom 1-6, but didn't want to sign the books that he didn't have any artistic input into, hence he only signed books he colored or had a hand in coloring. Much respect to the guy for sticking to the artistic-only side of things) SUPRISE!!! From Peter Steigerwald, for dropping so much cash on Aspen as well as being so enthusiastic about Aspen's titles, Peter told me he wanted to give me something special for my dedication and fandom of Aspen and Michael Turner's legacy. So, he got out the art pad and, for free... :whee: Anyways, back to the signatures, except now for prints. All p[rints purchased at Calgary Comic Con 2013: -Charismagic Calgary Con exclusive variant cover print, limited edition, 17 of 30 -Jirni Calgary Con exclusive variant cover print, limited edition, 53 of 75 -Fathom Calgary Con exclusive variant cover print, 50 of 75 Colored by Peter Steigerwald -Rogue covers from X-Men Legacy Mark Brooks Phew.... done
