  1. CA - if you hit the "notify" button, it takes you to a screen to enter in a reason why you are notifying a moderator and then you have to submit that. You don't actually hump the button once, but twice to make it "official." If it has been humped already, the first thing you see will be the screen that says "moderator has already been notified."

    :)

As to who? Well, no one but the mods really know in most cases... but in this case, I'd bet it was the OP.

Ahhhh.... I see, thanks for the info. However, wouldn't that mean you are going around humping things to see if others already humped it? Ummm....ewwww :o

  2. What is the endgame for these types of scams? I thought Paypal typically held on to the money on accounts that are newer so when you open a case they will never let him get his funds. If he has a long time account then I would assume he has his real name, address, linked accounts, etc so what does he hope to achieve?

  3. If you are referring to the Ebay possible shilling incident, the answer is No. I think technicalIy speaking, I would have been the one that was actually offended and I am not going to nominate him. He apologized and fixed the bids that had been made to the auction so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.

  4. As a frequent buyer on these boards, I can say there are two things that will turn me off from buying something. The first are unusually high shipping costs and the second is when they make you pay paypal fees. There is one auction right now that says they prefer paypal but you have to add 4% (I thought it was normally 3%?) I can't get over having to pay the seller's paypal fees when selling on the boards is free in the first place. Plus, why would you charge me more for paying you immediately and providing you with seller protection? Funny thing is that if the seller just built the paypal fees into the asking price in the first place no one would notice.

  5. Question, if you put up a :takeit: and the seller does not send you a invoice, how long do you have to wait before you don't have to go honor the deal? Do you have to give the seller 30 days also?

If you reached out to him and he ignored you that is a problem. If it is an ongoing thread and he has not sent you one yet, I would just reach out to them. It is common on here for some sellers to create a pile for each customer until the thread is over or the buyer says that is all they want.

  6. Coi (or anyone else), how do you feel about getting your statues signed? I was thinking about getting the MJ one signed on the side of the brown base by J. Scott Campbell and Stan Lee. I would never sell it so I am not concerned about value just curious if it is considered a no no.

  7. So did anyone but me buy HusTruk's story? He really seems more bumbling and socially awkward than malicious or shady, but I could be wrong. Maybe I'm not a good judge of character.

I totally understand what you mean. He did type me and apologize for what happened today and asked for my advice on how to handle it. He followed my advice and tried to fix the situation so I will give him the benefit of the doubt since he is a fellow board member. Hopefully he continues to work on his social skills and board etiquette moving forward. For me the situation is closed pending any further incidents of the kind. However, I too will be proceeding with caution.

Watch out you don't misplace your generosity. 2c

Agreed. Hopefully it did not sound as if I was defending him. I am not, at all. I just do not have any proof either way so not much else I can do.
