  1. Lawdy, that gives me the vapors. Amazing stuff. Always loved Wrightson's raw pencils.
  2. A lot of it comes down to personal preference. To Pete's point, I'd rather have a B or C example from Kirby than a B or C example from Lee. (I'll take a Forever People or OMAC page or even his pre-superhero work anyday over a WildCATS page.) But that's entirely personal preference, and wouldn't say it's a hard and fast rule by any means. But I think both bring up a good point -- Jack's not exactly making any new art, while Jim is still going to be around for a long time I'd imagine.
  3. Picked this up from the Hero Initiative Wake Up and Draw auction. I got hooked on the weight and foreboding in Rodriguez's take on OMAC.
  4. Up close, it looks like the card is being "charged" by Gambit, hence the color shift...
  5. It's always a good day when you come home to this in the mail. Secret Warriors Issue 27 splash of Nick Fury finally doing in Baron Strucker.
  6. In my admittedly limited experience, the signature has little bearing. I've generally gotten them both on pages I've bought at conventions directly from the artist and pages I've bought elsewhere and brought for the artist to sign. Personally as a fan, I've found it spurs conversations and interactions with creators you might not get otherwise.
  7. His Snarked, Popeye and Thor series were fantastic, and I love how Batman looks completely exasperated by insufficiently_thoughtful_person Robin. That, and Roger's such a great dude.
  8. Roger Langridge was taking commissions for any Big Two characters, with proceeds to be donated to the Heroes Initiative after his criticism of their treatment of some creators. Naturally, I told Roger to surprise me, and I got this pretty spiffy sketch, all while helping out some creators. Not a bad deal all around.
  9. I remember a couple years back Fraction was only doing sketches of ghosts at HeroesCon. The next year he was back doing sketches of ghosts or Rollie Fingers. Only Rollie Fingers looked exactly like the ghost, but with a moustache. Good to see him branching out.
  10. Hi all, long-time lurker, first time post. Figured I'd throw this on the pile. Both were framed by a local framer who does awesome work. Its a splash page from Tom Scioli's American Barbarian series. Tom did all the work on double-sized pages, then scanned them down to a much smaller format. Beautiful work in person and pretty crazy for its size. Second is a quick sketch David Mack -- one of my favorite DD artists -- did of ol' Hornhead with a brush and freehand in about 45 seconds. Unreal. One dip in the inkwell and he just went to town.
