  1. This is a NM copy of a Hungarian edition of Secret Wars 8.

What is interesting about it, is that it completes my "world collection"

I have compiled every Secret Wars 8 first print from every country that ever printed it...

    DUN..SON!!!!

  3. Inexplicable. Am I jaded enough to think that the book was in the auction to "get fannies in the seats" with an out of touch reserve? hm

I would say at least half of the books in the Pedigree auction ended with no bids or not meeting reserve. I'm too lazy to go through all the pages, but I'd be curious of what percent actually sold.

    I just went thru it.

324 of 595 books didnt sell. 54.4% didnt hit reserve or no bids because the starting bid was so damn high.

I know ive argued about this with Doug and can somewhat understand his "this isnt Comiclink where books sell for pennies on the dollar" argument but it just doesnt seem like a good business model to me when you allow reserves to be set so freaking high that over 54% of the books dont sell (shrug)

Agreed, it's not an auction when more than half the books don't sell. Just list them in the market place or on eBay. Silly

Everett Sloane. My guess is this picture is from "The Men" starring Marlon Brando

That's crazy, I just watched the Twilight Zone episode The Fever in which he starred.

  6. i bet that since there are so many Western Penn's out there they didnt bother with numbering the certs (werent there like 10,000 books?).

CGC prob holds onto those certs so they can keep count - otherwise every book could potentially become a western penn copy. They are not very memorable certs to begin with either.

Pretty sure that CGC returns the Certs
