  1. Well after years of selling variants on Ebay.. I have my first return.. due to damage in shipping...

from an Ebayer that goes by the name of liquidsports11 for a Godzilla Issue 2 ..35 cent price variant...

    claimed it was damaged in shipping... and here is how I packed it;

    Bagged and Boarded

Place between 2 pieces of Cardboard

    Plastic Wrap placed around it

Placed in a Priority Bubble Wrap Flat Mailer..

Then placed in a Priority Flat Rate Envelope..

Written on the outside.. Please do not Bend.. Package is insured" on both sides.

Done this alot.. with no problems... he claimed it was damaged during shipping and is now returning it... said it was not due to it being shoved through his mail slot..

    guy paid $114.00 for it..

I checked his feedback and even though he has a score of 214.. seems he has no feedback, well except for 1, during the past 90 days.. usually this occurs when an account has been suspended, from what I have seen in the past..

I am bringing it unopened to the post office when it arrives.. with my video camera.. just to be safe.. to file for the insurance..

I know some of you sell on Ebay.. you ever done a deal with this person?

    Thanks, Frank

  2. As far as Gold Key price variants.. I see them all the time.. i just had an auction with several of them. I don't know why Gold Key did that.. for instance if you spot a gold key comic from 1964 to 1966 with a 15 cent cover price.. odds are it is a price variant or change doh!

  3. Well,

I asked the seller, what he meant by the listing.. I asked him if it meant there was a double cover.. one with 30 cents on the outside and on the inside one with 35 cents... which i know is basically impossible.. but who knows, could happen. :makepoint:

And he replied with a smarmy answer, saying that he knows what he is talking about. and that I was just trying to prove my comic prowess.. Too bad, i don't know who the buyer is.. i would let him know he just wasted his money! :frustrated:

  4. Actually correction,,,, i believe the Fantastic Four 170 from the phillipines is in low print..

and when you open the auction site for the Amethyst variants.. it says the ebay seller is private! I have never privatized my buying habits... so what is up with that? something ebay did not me! .. you guys can stalk all you want! i just spend about 4 hours a night on ebay.. i do not have much of a social life because of it!

  5. Wow! never sold.. everything i said on the auction was true! i have had only two of these comics in the past two years! The Star Wars issue 1 with no price sold over a year ago for around $56.. yet when i put this comic up and identified it as a philippine editon it did not sell! I had ten watchers on this auction!

to tell you the truth , i was a bit shocked.... i do not believe these editions are in low print... so far seems that the phillipines editons only cover from 1976 to 1977 from what I have found so far, and they are printed in English..

i guess i will hang on to it for awhile..

    in the meantime:

let me know if anyone is interested..

  6. Hey gang,

I know I have not posted in awhile..

got scammed over the weekend , first of all take a look at this picture:

    1498388-22ndpicture.jpg

Now I am pretty good at spotting these,,,,

In fact, the seller called me to ask me about buying a second set from him..

I asked him after making my initial bid, what the cover prices were, and he said they are all 30 centers, I actually asked him was he sure, because the picture sure looks like there is a 35 cent cover price on issue 1, he got kind of quiet, and then said no, but alot of people had asked him about that , which he said he answered...

Unfortunately, I won the auction, and I then get the invoice and the *spoon* adds on $102.00 to the price with no explanation!!!!

Take a look at the picture and let me know in your opinion, if you can spot the variant!

    Thanks, frank

Only cosmic bid against me and he never came bac to bid more! 893whatthe.gif

So I have two Westerns crossed off my list. I would say they are in fine shape, perhaps better laugh.gif

I would say what happened to Darth and others, but as you can see by the listing. It was a short three dayer, and never use "#" sign and "30cent"

i found it on ebay by using just "marvel variant"

    I consider myself lucky! headbang.gif
