  1. Ok so I have 40 #1 1st editions of Todd and 45 #2 1st editions. They are all unread and bagged and boarded from where I bought them and look pristine. Should I take the 40 #1s and 10 of the #2s and send them to Pre-Screen CGC for a minimum of 9.8? Do we have any idea what this book might be worth when the official news hits? I know a 9.8 is worth roughly $150 now...do we think this might break $250 on official news? Any help is appreciated as this is a fairly large investment for me to make. Cheers
  2. I have more than that, but why not hoard while it's still cheap to do so.
  3. I gotta drive from R.I. to Northern NH tomorrow and mapped out 11 comic book stores on the drive. I'll keep you guys posted on my scores.
  4. It's gonna dwindle down to like $50 a set until we get the next batch of news. Just the way she goes. The way she goes Bubs..
  5. How long do you think we'll have to wait for confirmation of TV Network? When will this air do you think?
  6. I mean how many need to sell for it to be a success.
  7. I'm more interested in who coined the phrase "coined the phrase"
  8. you think half are 9.8 candidates? wowza - thats pretty darkwing duck wrong.
  9. Oh trolling doesn't bother me. Just curious if anyone else had a comment. I'm confused as to how people think that a 7,000 print run would have more than 1,500 remaining in 9.6+ condition after months of rollercoaster speculating and a first day sell-out (i.e. natives buying and reading). I don't think I'm very far off on that one bit.
  10. Been following this thread since inception, prolly just shoulda stayed in the shadows - not really interested in getting flogged. From Boston, I usually do that dolling out.
  11. I'm a noob on here cause I'm a hoarder. I've been collecting for years. Posts: 8 Anyone else feel like trolling?
  12. Also, not a noob. I've had 150 1st/1st copies of American Gods stored for over 2 years. I do my hw and research.
  13. Yeah I'm definitely not selling them for as little as $1,200. I dont expect this to have the same success as Walking Dead, in honesty I'm not sure anything ever will again. However, we have the perfect recipe for huge returns down the line. We've got a book that has a miniscule 7,000 print run. Additionally, it's been several months since the release with a huge dip in the value of the book. That means a lot of speculators dumped their collection and/or as I read on here, literally threw them away. When you factor in the low print run with the failed speculators and then couple that with the 75% of people that read and damaged or even read and discarded the book, I project we have somewhere between 1,000-1,500 pristine copies remaining. The fan base is going to continue to grow and as soon as the release of the show, explode. My money is on saving the bulk of the collection until the show comes out and cross my fingers for it to be successful. I dont think Walking Dead numbers are realistic but we could easily see 25% of that book cover value in the next 12 months pending the release date of the show. Stay tuned for the ride and hold on tight!
  14. thinking about selling 20 sets as a lump lot - all unread, bagged boarded. what should I ask for?
  15. I don't expect this will do anything close to Walking Dead, but have you folks started to speculate on a value? I know Peter Panz goes for like 150-300 right now. Does this compare?
  16. Will sell once it picks a studio to work with. Now if Gaiman can just finish making American Gods on HBO, I can sell my 127 1st/1st editions of that book.
  17. Been watching this page for months and happy to report I have 50 sets of #1,2,3,4 fresh and unread sitting in my room. Was quite the gamble for me but I'm glad to see it looks like it might pay off!
