  1. Added a slew of miscellaneous esoteric GA books in my FS thread.....come take a look at these oddballs...
  2. I'll be selling my entire collection over the next 30 years, pm me with your wants and needs :: Really, I'll be continually listing more books in my "off the first page" for sale thread. There's a decent Hulk 182 in there and some very nice mid grade caps, some higher grade warlocks, and whatever else I can find. I will be salting it with some high grade bronze and silver as I have time.
  3. NICE!!!!!!! This was one of the first stories I ever read. That page with the monster sculpture in front of the theater...classic Kirby! I remember staring at that thing for hours as a kid thinking how cool that was! I used to carry around the old digest-size reprint. Your #3...are you freaking kidding me??? Beautiful copy...do you have a grade on it? Letusknow... Harley graded it as a Fine, its close to a fine but I don't like the paper quality, quite brown. It was an interesting deal. Harley came to a local Edmonton comic show about 15 years ago. Our shows are quite small with local dealers and a few from Calgary so Harley's selection of comics was mind blowing. I gotta think he had a pretty good show as his booth was busy all weekend. I had just got back into collecting and had never spent more than $50 on a comic. I wanted the FF#3 but Harley was asking $300 U.S. When I said I couldn't afford it he asked if I had anything to trade. I did have a Batman 17, great WW2 cover, that I figured was about a VF. Harley asked me to mail it to him. I did but he only graded it a F and asked for more comics. I packed up Wonder Comics 11,13, both in about F-VF condition and shipped them off. Shortly after I received the FF#3. I have always felt the Batman17 was higher grade than the FF3 but perhaps not a VF. I love FF and #3 was a grail at the time but I regret the deal I made. I really liked the Batman 17 and the Wonder Comics are worth a fair amount. Wish I had just dug out my credit card and bought that baby and kept my other comics. Are you sure ? If you had pulled out the card it would have altered your life...spiralling you into an alternate reality in which everything you now know could be different .GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Almost every trade I've ever made with a dealer I've regretted...they know more than your average collector and will inevitably walk away with the bigger prize. It's always better to pay the money for a book you want, and sell a book you don't want........trading with collectors is a different story and I've always found that to be fun and worthwhile. My 2 cents.
  4. In BATMAN #81, an explosion ruins the plastic surgery, and Harvey turns back to his evil ways. guess I need a batman 81 This is sitting unsold in my Batman sale thread....... unsold I'll give you a Morgan Silver Dollar for it......I'll even scratch out the face
  5. In BATMAN #81, an explosion ruins the plastic surgery, and Harvey turns back to his evil ways. guess I need a batman 81
  6. UK/Australian version I think from slightly after original production date. I'd have to check the price to confirm.
  7. Thanks for sharing again....George McManus certainly had the luck of the Irish.
  8. That is one phenomenal book.....Congratulations on picking up such a rare gem. We should all be so lucky (worship)
  9. Very nice TEC 40.....since I only have a few TEC's, I decided to purchase a nice two face appearance. In the end of the story, he saves batman, gets his sentence reduced to a year, has plastic surgury, looks normal, gets the girl and leaves a happy man.....what the heck happened next to make him a bad boy again?
  10. It's good in some ways for noob's to know that we try to police the forum. People will pull stuff no matter where you go, as can be seen by AlleyBat, but at least it keeps it fresh in our minds.
  11. Kudos to NorrinRad....very nice copy arrived today.
  12. Nice Rangers! The color on that is sick. (thumbs u Thanks..you're right...so many times the fiction house colors are faded out...but these two are shiny bright.
  13. fun story there.... here are a couple of recent acquisitions....
  14. Wow, that's nice!!! My favorite All-American cover, and two covers to boot!!!! I was watching that one one ebay...and might have gone after it if I didn't have a copy....very sweet. Nice pickup.
  15. Didn't realize DJpinpanther was going through this right now..... .......gather the wagons..........time to help one of the good guys.
  16. I love the pseudo sellers remorse going on here......CGC has some strange grading calls, but nice books NIK.
  17. Just so people know, I did receive my two copies of B&B from Henchman and they arrived safely. The two books were shipped with backing board and bag and put into a priority mailer. No extra cardboard, or method of securing them. I got lucky and they did arrived in the general condition I expected.
  18. All of us, at one time or another, have posted a and then had buyers remorse or found something else that we wanted more. BUT, most of us take our transactions seriously and follow through on the buy. Personally, I had rather keep my word than save the $20! Been there myself with the remorse , but always pay without comment. Makes the boards go round
  19. I haven't received my two inexpensive books from Henchman yet....but they may have been mailed out. My pm's asking for status have been read, but not responded to. My total bill was $15 shipped for 2 books, so we'll see what happens. I was slow in sending a check (paypal is so much easier) so I'm not too worried about it.
