  1. Yeah! Another great one. very nice copy....I keep meaning to buy a copy, but all I ever come across are VG's or the ORE copies from overseas. This appears to be one of the more common covers of the run surprisingly, but excellent nonetheless.
  2. what a centerfold.....I bet that framed alone would bring a pretty penny. Very cool.
  3. five days is pretty short.....I'd be history.....maybe he's on vacation.
  4. If only you'd used your 49th post to warn off others to the $10,000 needed for a collection scam. I wonder how many other "collectors" or "dealers" chipped in to buy that collection? I'm sure Mr. Zaid has gotten numerous past scam history and other tidbits he's not disclosing at this point. On a different note.......Allen Shevy in Tampa Florida is also a scam artist so be on the lookout for him everyone. Took my money......and I'm still bitter.
  5. Very generous of you......proud poppa. Don't forget to teach her the economics of slabbing certain books as well, quality over quantity doesn't hurt either. Many of us with very large collections will likely attest to the fact that having fewer books never hurt anyone.
  6. great books you have there....thanks for sharing.....I've long since sold most of my pre-code horror in the chase of GGA. Horror or Babes.....no brainer for me...but I love seeing the horror books you all chase so vigilantly.
  7. Love that sliver of red title on the bottom....no idea...but it reminds me of the logo of Saint #1 without looking due to that wonderful shade of blue. Yes I know it's not that issue. I'm going to have to play your game when I have time with the gerbers handy.
  8. Without you and Danny hoarding HG copper....how many boardies are left pursuing those gems?
  9. Not to be nosy, but why? I ask because it's fascinating when I think of how many collectors I've seen go from one extreme to another; from collecting the best of the best to not collecting at all. Did you just burn out? I'm tired. I am in talks now with a good friend to help me with my raw books. I am finding that I like the social aspect of the hobby much better than the owning/hoarding portion of the hobby. There's a lot to be said for the social side of sharing...hence the boards success. Raw books are kinda cool too. Good luck in whichever endeavor you choose.
  10. You X-men high grade collectors let the will of the wind rule your collecting habits....you need a collection you can sink your teeth into and feel more than a tug of regret in selling. Just don't make it something I like. ps. nice books you all picked up there and good luck in your upcoming listing on comiclink Danny.
  11. I just prefer all the GA GGA sellers to PM me first with what they have to offer...forget threads all together. For that matter, whenever anyone has something sweet, rare, or just downright cool....pm me first.....just because you can.
  12. Kudos to MCMiles for a nice copy of Saint 4. Kudos to Bill (Ciorac) for a couple of very nice Lady Luck issues #86 and #90. Kudos to GACollectibles for a very nice Flyin' Jenny #2. (thumbs u
  13. If it works for you, I wouldn't change anything. I've done the same thing on a smaller scale. I always enjoy seeing what you're posting, but I have to admit that a long thread is somewhat daunting. A new thread does draw more attention, and closing out a thread can feel like an accomplishment.
  14. I have to agree that a couple of threads based upon types/genres/$$ is a good rule of thumb. The long continuous thread gets old and no one really wants to ferret through it. Even I don't want to read a thread with 20 pages or more to find that one hidden gem.
  15. I'm going to be listing issues of new xmen between 103 and 120 in my thread in the next little while. Some of these books are phenomenal, but a few have a water spot on the back of otherwise 9.0+ books and a few have extremely minor humidity type warbles without staining or direct water contact. Many that I say have warbles are imperceptible to the eye and even barely perceptible to the touch. The 109 that I had slabbed from this collection came back 9.6 White pages. Ok, they're now posted in the thread with images and prices. xmen 103(VG due to stain on front cover at the bottom) xmen 105 (VG/FN) xmen 105 (9.2-9.4) 9.2 xmen 106 (VG+) xmen 106 (F+ to F/VF) xmen 107 (9.2+) xmen 108 (FN) (byrne art begins) xmen 110 9.0 Qualified as there's a dime size water spot on the back xmen 112 8.0 Qualified as there's a water spot on the back and minor warble that could be pressed out. (this one is more like an 8.5 Q book) xmen 113 9.0 Q Qualified as there's a water spot. ( I'd even go lower on the Q grade with this one as this has the largest water damage on the back)....not sure how to grade it. Maybe 8.0 Q, even thought the front presents like a 9.0 or better) Xmen 114 Fine xmen 115 Fine- Xmen 116 8.5-9.0 Q , very slight warble pressible. Xmen 117 8.5 Xmen 118 9.0 (extremely slight warble....no one would notice IMO) Xmen 120 9.4-9.6 Q almost imperceptible warble.
  16. picked these up off ebay last night....not in hand yet...so we'll see....
  17. back to reality for those of us that collect books in the $50-$500 range. Just in from MCMiles.... Classic GGA cover The Saint #4 ps....Love the Action 2....and the Fight.....and the...........
  18. I know...I know...where you hiding the good stuff?!?!? I'm pulling from my office and haven't gotten down into a lot of the OO books BA and CA etc or my GA stash.....it's to come....but the sales thread is getting long and onerous. I've posted the remnants in the final post. I need another thread or two to break the best books out.
  19. Hell and a Handbasket I always wanted that issue in a 9.8.... I hear Dale's got a dozen of them . . . $5.00 shipped priority and ill take it. I have some books in my thread that look like they'd be "hell and a handbasket" quality. Some are even $5.... ::
