  1. Hello to all CGC Registry Participants and Members! My name is Mollie Davis and I have been Gemma’s right hand (wo)man behind the scenes, for the last few months in regards to the Registry. As most of you already know, Gemma has been promoted to a full time grader! Hooray! However, the task of trying to maintain the Registry, in addition to her grading duties, was too much for one person to handle. So, I’m very happy to say that I have been appointed to the Registry Administrator! Please never hesitate to contact me if you have any questions concerning the Registry. My email is mdavis@cgccomics.com or you can PM me at anytime. Happy Collecting! -Mollie
  2. 2017 NEW COMPETITIVE SET REQUEST This is the thread to request full set additions to the CGC Registry. (Requests for expansions to existing sets can be made in 2017 SET EXPANSION REQUEST) You can add your request to this thread, please check to make sure that the set does not already exist on the registry (it helps to skim through this thread and make sure another user hasn’t requested it already, too) IMPORTANT: *There must be more than one issue/book in the set or graded by CGC to create a set. As a rule, if there is only one issue graded (even if the issue & variant of the same issue are graded) we will not make the set. We prefer that there be evidence of someone collecting the series rather than just having passion for the one issue. You are welcome to display these books in the custom registry sets until you are able to obtain and grade additional issues. *Any request for a "custom" or specialized set that is competitive will need a list to be provided. The complete list of books should be included in the request post. Competitive "Custom" sets are currently limited to Cover Artist complete sets & Mini-series/One-Shots sets for a character/title. Any others should be created using the non-competitive custom set option now available. Please note: Custom/Specialized Sets expanding across different titles are very time consuming to build. Please be patient. When the set has been added, I will respond to your post directly, so you know when the set is available. You will also be able to see whose request was filled last and how many request are left until yours. If you made a request that has yet to be fulfilled and it is not listed here, please make another post in this thread with a hyperlink to your original post and I will fulfill it first. If you have any questions, please contact me at: mdavis@cgccomics.com Happy Collecting! -Mollie

  4. 2017 SET EXPANSION REQUEST This is the thread where you can request that issues or titles be added to existing sets in the CGC registry. (If you would like to request an entirely new set, please use 2017 NEW COMPETITIVE SET REQUEST) Please list the EXACT TITLE OF THE SET you wish to expand in your post and the TITLE, ISSUE NUMBER, and VARIANT. It is preferable if you use the wording that is on the CGC label for title & variant. (Please note that books must be shipped from CGC and appear on our Census before they can be added to the registry) Here are some examples: Set: Howard the Duck (2016) Book: Howard the Duck 1 Lim Sketch Cover (Certification Number Optional) Set: Skottie Young Cover Set Book: Black Widow 1 Young Variant Cover (Certification Number Optional) If a book is being requested and there is a discussion or disagreement with the removal or addition of that book, then more time will be allowed for the discussion to take its course before the book is added or removed. When the book has been added, I will respond to your post directly, so you know when the book is available. You will also be able to see whose request was filled last and how many request are left until yours. If you have any questions, please contact me at: mdavis@cgccomics.com Happy Collecting! -Mollie
  5. Recent issues with the additions of "Qualified Signature Series" books to the Registry. The Qualified Signature Series or Yellow/Green label applies to a comic book that has been signed by someone of significance to the comic, and also exhibits a qualifying defect or unwitnessed signature. For example, if a comic book missing a page and is signed by Stan Lee under direct observation of a CGC representative, the book will be graded as if the page was not missing, and given the Qualified Signature Series label with a notation of the missing page on the label. Another example is if Stan Lee signed a high grade comic book under direct observation, but the cover also exhibited a signature not observed by a CGC representative. Stan Lee's witnessed signature (Signature Series) and the other signature (Qualifier in high grade) would result in a Qualified Signature Series label. Many Collectors Society Members have been excited to add these books to their Registry. Unfortunately, when this new label designation was established, the ability for books with these type of labels to be added to the Registry had not been addressed. Our web developers have been contacted and the new labels will be added to the Registry, for your convenience, when the new website upgrade is made live. This upgrade is expected to go live sometime after the holidays. The CGC is sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Mollie Davis at mdavis@cgccomics.com. See more journals by TheGirlHasNoName
