  1. Sold some books to Rick at the recent VCC, great guy to deal with in every way! Thanks for the smooth transaction!
  2. Not sure if you all saw this one.... it's subtle so not everyone might have caught it. They bought this on E-Bay a few weeks ago: And now apparently have it posted as a cover, after a few alterations:
  3. Very nice piece, LARRY! Glad you left it as is, Frank, and it did frame up beautifully! (thumbs u
  4. My latest just came back from the framer and is up on the wall. Whoo hoo! I'm tapped so now it'll just be admiring what others buy for awhile....
  5. Sad on so many levels. 1. That obviously they make a good living doing what they do or they wouldn't keep doing it 2. They have some great pieces/pages, which I have to constantly trick myself into believing have been "destroyed in a fire"... Since the likelihood of me owning them is now exactly the same as they would be had they been set ablaze, 3. New people to the hobby certainly can be taken in by their very visible online presence ... And maybe think "please inquire" is the way everyone does business 4. The idea that they would be altering pieces of art....but this bothers me less than most of you, as I assumed the art was already burned in a fire. :-) Of course, I don't begrudge them the right to do business the way they want to. Just nothing wrong with shedding a little sunlight on a cockroach now and then either.
  6. GREAT piece by Sal!!!! It is totally personal preference, but I have always been partial to his work from the 70's as opposed to way his art really changed in style in the 90's and beyond, but there's no getting around that this is a wonderful piece. Great idea and fantastic execution. Hope you enjoy it for many years!!!!!
  7. You guys were right... it's an addiction. This just arrived today and I can't believe how fantastic it looks in person! So excited to get it framed!! Thanks so much to Larry Clay for being wonderful to deal with!!
  8. Just got my Alan Kupperberg commission of the cover of Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 back from the framers, and up on the wall tonight... very happy! It joins my two Marvel Team-Up Pages.... A page from #2 And a page from #52 And here they all are together
  9. Got my Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 cover commission this week and dropped it off to be framed yesterday. :-). You can click on the thumbnail to see the big version on my CAF page.
  10. So I've gathered. :-). I really want to focus on published pages, but while before I thought I'd ONLY go that route...I now see how that idea made no sense. Especially seeing some of the remarkable pieces people have shown off in this thread. Wow. In choosing mine, I just so love that cover to the first amazing spider-man annual... And I thought it would be cool to have a version of it done in the Ditko style by someone who was around Marvel when I was growing up. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Dropped it off for framing today!
  11. Ok. So I just got my first commission the other day and it's great. Fine. And yeah it's my birthday and I've got a bit of cash in my pocket right now. But for the love of God would you people stop posting really cool commissions like these to tempt me to go get another one? sheesh! Oh yeah. And since I'm now really old? Get off my lawn. :-) Seriously though, these are sweet! Well done!
  12. My first-ever commission just arrived today! Of my favorite cover! Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1! Don't want to post a giant image of it here but feel free to check it out in my CAF gallery! This thread is causing my addiction to grow. Frank
  13. Since I'm starting to buy/sell here, it was recommended that I start a feedback thread. So this is me, starting a feedback thread. I've also been buying and selling over on ebay for many many years, username there is blcommish.
  14. Hi all - very excited to have seen the pencils to my first-ever commission today. Alan Kupperberg is doing a recreation of one of my favorite covers of all time - Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1. He emailed me the pencils today and I was blown away! Frank
