  1. Hmm, I don't take it as personal. If you're opinion is that CGC has a professional responsibility to "do it right" or not bother, should you not hold your own professional site to that standard?
  2. Criticism? Sure. Doesn't mean it isn't trivial criticism. (Just to be obvious, this is me and my opinion). Doesn't hurt to have the discussion. Your logic does not function like my logic. I'm more concerned about their cases being done right, which has prevented me from shipping them any comics for a long time. I'm not going to consider them to have failed in some regard because their forum has a few nails sticking out of the wall. I don't have the delays you mention, though I don't use search that often. That's a database issue and exactly the sort of problem they should resolve. Whether it's a trivial or non-trivial problem, or one somewhere in between, I don't know. Maybe they find that the cost doesn't warrant it? I dunno, but in my opinion, of the complaints lobbied here, this one merits the most attention.
  3. Custom forum installations are a hassle. It sounds to me like people are ready to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Other than search times, the concerns I've seen listed are trivial.
  4. @Buzzetta From the counter email... If you do not respond to the counteroffer, your current bid will remain active for 5 days from the date and time of your initial bid. During this period, the seller can still accept or decline your bid. Thank you for using ComicLink! More vintage comic books are listed every day, so for the best deals, bookmark the website and check back frequently! And, if you like our service, tell a friend - the more people know about ComicLink, the more great items there will be to choose from! : )
  5. https://www.ebay.com/usr/fest1ve Do what you want, but all signs point to disappointed seller. I made an offer on a lot that was $10 above the starting bid. Because I irrationally buy multiples of Adventure Time 1A, I knew what would happen if he declined the offer. Offer was declined, I bid the starting bid, I won at the starting bid. Seller cancelled. I reached out for info and never got a reply. At that point, I left negative feedback.
  6. I have been getting good offers from some sellers whose listings I’ve watched. I’m still happy making the right buy from the right eBay seller.
  7. You can join me in my embarrassment by reading the subsequent posts.
  8. I've been looking for that Challengers greytone cover. It's just outrageously bad and I love it.
  9. Thanks, I love these threads! War book threads are so often from enthusiasts to enthusiasts--good stuff!
  10. I signed up last year even though it was a very different financial period at the end of a very difficult personal year. I didn't have resources to buy much, so I sent the one comic I had that fit the person's interests. And from the still active boardie, what did I hear back for thanks...nothing. So nah, not interested this year.
  11. See if this link works to get a one month free trial: https://gocollect.acemlnc.com/lt.php?s=54ab7fb4e976e41cc17035837cd0f615&i=92A118A2A1068 It'll work just once, I assume, so whoever gets there first can have it.
  12. It's been a few years since I had a similar case, but I think he could still accept. Might be totally off though. If he started that high and accepted an offer so far under his ask, he was probably leveraging the minimum bid of 50% to hit in his ballpark.
  13. I'm sensing a theme here... I know you hate to let these go, but it's nice to know that you can let go of some luxuries, leave savings intact, and still take care of necessities. Now post some grey tone that I can't resist...or probably afford.
