I picked that one up. At this point I have passed on multiple copies and it was time to pull the trigger. I could also pick it up locally so worked for both of us. I should have grabbed one last year and saved myself $300, lol.

Yes! They’re considerably cheaper. I will def want them complete. Like you I would want the whole series just the ones I had as a kid. Thanks man! Found another way to feed my OCD, lol.

I was wondering if anyone has heard or seen the rubber band on GI Joe action figure dry rot while still sealed? I’m asking because I was thinking about purchasing a 1982 snake eyes and 1984 storm shadow MOC at some point. Thx

I need to pick up a #155 in 9.8 preferably an SS by Larry Hama. I love a lot of the Joe stories especially the early ones but the final issue is dark and real. It’s very personal for me. I think it’s the best issue in the series, just my opinion of course.

The books aren’t demanding the same prices they where two years ago. Number one in 9.8 has pretty much stabilized at around $2200-2400 and number two between $1000-1200. The shows popularity has plummeted but the readers of the series are still going strong for the most part. I think the prices we see now are what they’re going to be for quite some time until it comes back into the main stream. Glad I got on it fairly early.

You’re 100% correct on their shipping schedule. First time I bought from them a week went by and I heard nothing. When I emailed and inquired about my purchase I got a pretty snarky response, basically “cool your jets bro, we will get it to you when we get it to you.”

Interesting, I’ve only purchased a few items from metropolis but they have always taken 5-10% off on their “make an offer”. Thanks for the info, I will keep that in mind.

I would say that I’ve only had a finite amount of bad experiences with ebay. Only one time the issue wasn’t resolved in my favor (I abandoned the issue). It wasn’t worth my time and looking back it was my fault anyway, “newbie” mistake. I find that most sellers get angry when you tell them their description is wrong. Even when you provide links and proof they made a mistake it’s almost impossible for them to admit it or change their ad. Regardless, I find eBay a good resource to fill in collection gaps. I do agree with Bob in the fact that there are better places to go but when you “need a copy” eBay works well, IMHO.
