This arrived today and I am very happy to have it. I loved this Mini-series when it came out.
John B.
I will join the other praises.
An amazing piece!

I love the invincible one.

I received my page from ComicLink.
I admired it the first time it was for sale last year, but didn't have the money at the time. When I saw it on sale again a few weeks ago, I decided I couldn't let it pass a second time.
So, here is my Alex Ross DPS: http://comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1209086
(I wrote a quite long description, both because I like to document my pieces, and because I think this one particularly deserves it. For those of you who have the courage to read it, feel free to PM me if you spot any mistake - either in my english, or in the Green Arrow lore)

Great gift Alex. Lucky you to have such a thoughtful wife. It's a very sweet piece.

Just got my first Don Rosa piece. Hopefully, it won't be my last!
One can never have too many Don Rosa pieces in a collection.

My first OA page. Never heard of Scott Hanna before and I don't usually buy original artwork, but since I'm a Batman fan, I put a very small bid on it for the heck of it. Was very surprised no one else bid and I actually won it. Just bought the graphic novel off Amazon to match the page.
Cool page! And welcome in the hobby.

Finished the Singapore Comic Expo and picked up over 20 sketches and some OA.
Met and interviewed some great artists: Olivier Coipel, Humberto Ramos, Cameron Stewart, David Mack, Harvey Tolibao, Frank Kozik, Alex Solis, Kim Jacinto, Phillip Tan, Andie Tong, Sonny Liew, and the list goes on.
I've got pieces all over the place.
Will be uploading pics with details on my CAF:
You can see raw pieces without the accompany details or stories on photobucket:
Here are some for those who need a prompting to click the URLs. PS: Can someone help identify the Coipel female drawing? He kindly did a sketch (no request specified) and whacked that up.
Andie Tong Dr Strange Commission
That Dr Strange is terrific!

Yup. Really cool indeed to reunite the prelim and the commission!

But, if you're doing this, you have to be willing to pay up when the time comes. Asking about someone's NFS art and then looking for it on the cheap is not going to work very often.
The other tactic I've found works is asking if they have any other pages like that one in their collections they'd be willing to part with. A lot of people don't put everything up on CAF and most people have more than 1 example of what they put in the gallery. Maybe they'd be willing to sell you their 2nd favorite page by that artist....
When I do this, I know I won't get the art cheap, and I am not looking for it. But It doesn't mean I am willing to pay 10X the market value either (In this case, I would probably try a direct offer).
Anyway, I never arrived to the negociation point yet as the items I was looking at were really NFS.
Thank you for the advice of asking if they have another piece they are willing to part with. That's a good idea I didn't think of.

Is it considered bad form to contact people about art labeled NFS?
I don't see a problem doing so. It doesn't bother me when I get such requests (no harm listening) . . . and I've sometimes ended-up selling!
Nothing ventured . . .
That's good to hear - sometimes I feel bad about cold calling someone who says NFS...
I think it all depends on how you make the request.
When I do it, I usually write something along the lines of: "I know your art says NFS, but if you ever change your mind, please let me know." and I drop a comment on the piece and add it to my favorites, so the owner can easily find me again in the future.
It didn't work for me so far, but I keep hope.
I also got a similar request. I didn't sell the art, but gave advice to the person on how to find a similar one (it was a not very famous indie artist).
I actually got quite flattered that someone was interested on my art.
Of course, for collectors of exceptional pieces who receive the kind of requests daily, I can understand this could be a bit annoying.

These are my items from the last few weeks:
Love 'em .

Very cool page.
Pencils are more sensitive to friction, so you should avoid rubbing any object on the surface of the art unless you want the pencils carbon to spread.
On the other hand, they are not sensitive to UV light (but the paper still is and can become yellow).

I just added a Jim Lee Superman Unchained Double Page Spread to my collection. This is my first Lee piece and am very happy to have it in my collection.

Thanks for looking. As always, comments are welcome and appreciated.
Damn, that's great!
I would love to add a Lee/Williams piece into my collection at some point.

Just be sure to use some non-acid tape. Regular tape leaves yellow stains on paper after a few years.
