  1. I can validate the addition of phokingfacevalue to the list. He just bid on an item and then two days later came back and cancelled the bid. At least he didn't do it right before the auction ended... but I would avoid.
  2. PS - I think it was actually 'Legends of the Dark Knight' that was one of the first 'variant' covers... remember the 4 colored inserts over the cover? The guy I worked for was amazed that people were buying 1 of each cover, even though they were all the same underneath. Kinda a lame start but it kicked off all the variants (IMHO)
  3. Yep SS #50 kicked off the cover craze. At the time it was amazing and much different than anything anyone had seen before. I worked in a comic store at the time, Liefeld was at he height of his popularity and while not loved by all - wasn't hated by a large portion of the industry. Most people that were collecting at the time bought at least one each of his New Mutants run (remember it WAS the speculation era). Our shop was ordering 100's of those titles. Who knows how many are still in collections of people that stopped collecting or in the back rooms of comic shops - but I'm guessing a lot.
  4. 1.5 x regular time on avg Sounds good i'll see how long it actually takes. For me they have been quicker than usual, but Con season is about in to full swing. Plus i like the fact they don't charge you till the books are shipped. Is this specific for dealers or something? They charge me when they receive the books, not when they ship them back. Or did I miss something? This isn't true. CGC bills the moment the books are received in the system. So what's the point of prescreen if they charge up for all the books? Or do they refund for ungraded books once they ship them? They don't charge that way for prescreens. They charge whatever books pass. I will say this, there have been times that CGC won't charge me until a week after I get my books, sometimes longer. Good to know - thanks for the info...
  5. Grading/Quality Control : 2/24 Shipped: 2/25 Basically a little over 3 months for 30 Value tier books.
  6. Still not encapsulated or QC'd... is this normal? They've been sitting graded for 2.5 weeks, you'd think they'd want to get them out of there just for storage purposes... My moderns were shipped within 2 days of being graded. I don't get it...
  7. I hope you either mean they were Value tier, or you meant to type 1/26 instead of 11/26, otherwise I would be on the phone to CGC lighting someone up. Yes - sorry; Value tier
  8. 30 standard books Received on 11/26 Verified about a week later Graded on Jan 31... STUCK
  9. "Help! I've fallen down in my comic room and can't get out!" - SEND HELP! And some good Chinese food... My parents recently brought a bunch of my (that I've been storing at their house for the last 20 years). So things are a bit out of control until I can sort through all of it. Of course... it could take me another 20 years
  10. Man... you guys are organized. My room reminds me of the comic shop I worked in during high school... Top view (Not so bad) My mother would be so ashamed...
  11. Geez... I thought the books shipped within a few days of being graded... I've been waiting 3 days since 'graded'... 10 would drive me crazy!
