The variant was the one that started the price creep. It was selling for $50 until everyone caught on and listed their copies. There is no doubt there are less copies of it.

An auction is also a reflection of those bidders available AT THAT TIME, not all potential buyers. A BIN has the availability to sell whenever is convenient for the buyer, not when the seller determines. "But a bidder can just put in their highest price they want to pay." Sure, that's possible. It's also possible to get your price ran up by shill bidding. Also, some might just flat out not like putting in a price they they can't watch end.
