  1. Did anyone figure this out regarding the "Prestige Format" with the different cover?
  2. The $34 sale is an outlier. It has gone up to about the $13 range. There are not many raws listed and that may have been the one in the best condition at the time of the auction.
  3. What's your definition of pump and dump? It's pretty cut and dry. (definition - cut-and-dry: being or done according to a plan, set procedure, or formula) Speculation value is when a book has the ability to increase in value due to art, content, demand, etc... Is this where I claim you are harassing me?
  4. What is the "pump" part though? Pump and dump is when something is pumped up that has no collectability or speculation value. People creating a false hype to benefit their own pocket. This book has been talked about by many national news and TV shows who have nothing to gain. Speaking of pump, "That's not my bag baby". No, it will just not be there in any reprints.
  5. Seems like the poster knew that. Not sure what the question is either.
  6. Yup ( and it's been that way for a while. I'm sure you would agree.)
  7. Is it a lecture to us peons on why Marvel Tails should not be worth what people are paying? By all means, very relevant.
  8. Just a simple self check of "before I post this, does it add anything to the subject of the thread?" seems like too much to ask.
  9. Keyboard gangster I see. Why aren't comments moderated to the actual topic of the thread?
  10. You're posting in a thread titled with "heating up". Maybe I missed the part where it asked for commentary on the state of comics today. I think most that post understand the volatility of the market for the past 5+ years.
  11. It will go limp soon. These things never stay up.
  12. I think people wanted to, until you came off half cocked.
  13. Dropoff from issue #1 to #8 (last issue) was less than 50%. Only 8 issues were released over 12 months though. A failing of most Image books since the beginning.
  14. 2012 is around the time when people who didn't read comics started coming online. When the sports card people moved over to comics. More and more everyday now.
  15. As a show and internet dealer you should know that happens with every single book now. Not "hyped" independent titles. The Big 2 movie books are the most over-hyped books out there. Marvel Preview #4 sold for a high of $3,900 in 2014. The year of the fist GOTG film. The high so far this year is $2,300. Still a popular movie character and actor in general. The market has changed a lot in the past 5 years. Internet hype is a subset of that, but not the only reason. Also, Todd is no longer a current title. As I stated. If the writer would have kept it going we do not know where the value would be. Again, as I stated, look at Saga.
  16. All the ones mentioned by one poster were Independents and Image heavy. Image has very few super-hero titles. I think that's what's great about their stories but also why the masses seem to stick to the Big 2. Along with notoriety of course.
  17. Please find one instance of P & D that I have made. I comment on books and stories that I like. That is the best speculation out there. I was late to the party on Todd, but loved it. Also really like Nailbiter and grab #1s when I see them cheap.
