  1. Agreed. Wish I knew more about Magic and Pokemon for when I hit yard sales and such.
  2. There might have been some here and there, but not like now. I mean it's simple logic that people don't buy comics at grocery and convenience stores but there is still a demand. Thus, more shops dedicated to it.
  3. Right, like I said, it's different depending where you live. To paint a broad brush across the entire country is not accurate.
  4. There are about 6 shops within 30 miles of me. Probably 10 in about 45 miles. Maybe half sell toys and I don't know any that sell magic. It just depends where you live. That's always the case when I see comments like this.
  5. Yes, but there weren't comic book, gaming & magic shops then.
  6. When was this survey conducted? I will agree that digital media / games is more where the younger generation is comfortable. But honestly video games were becoming very popular at home in the early 90's and we all know that story.
  7. Yes, I would say that's a fair assumption. Honestly for what they say you get I think it's worth more that at current market. However, once the market gets flooded with this stuff prices will drop.
  8. It was the most vague description of an event. I assume it's free and thousands of people are going to each get $1,000 worth of collectibles to walk away with. Didn't say otherwise.
  9. Looks like it's dropped a little. 1st appearance of three characters. Only one matters right now and she has been prominent in the last couple of months on the series. Made some cover appearances.
  10. That being said, I'm curious what IS selling at $1.
  11. Yes, but how many monthly titles were there then compared to now?
  12. Chuck's business model can be applied to NO new startup. He's built a brand. There are people loyal to him and apparently they don't shop elsewhere. As an example, his latest newsletter he offered a Walking Dead #1 at 30% off their price. It sold before I could even see what the price was. There is still a #2 VF (assumed 8.0-8.5) listed at $975 - 30% = $682.50. A CGC 8.0 just sold for $295.
  13. Last two: Batman & Robin Adventures #8 NM $22 SOLD Batman & Robin Adventures #21 VF/NM $22SOLD
  14. I have no problem with one person collecting what they want. Just trying to warn the lurkers that read these boards and buy without any foresight or research.
  15. Wait, Star Wars fizzled? The largest single ordered issue of 2015 has fizzled?
  16. As an outsider, one glaring difference is that maybe 1/10 of the people know what Robotech is compared to Transformers.
