  1. I know you're joking, but independents don't operate the same way as the Big 2.
  2. Is that typically a sought after issue and if so why, because of the Wrightson cover?
  3. Awesome! Give us the back story on it. How did you get it? Did you have it pressed?
  4. That's about market value for that book. I wouldn't bite on one now as he is flooding the market with covers swipes. The only good thing is usually they are very limited. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2055119.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xdead+pooh.TRS0&_nkw=dead+pooh&_sacat=0 I think I have the most limited one yep that's #1 They are all #1's. You can see on the cover that is limited to 125. There are some issues that are only 25 or 50 printed.

  6. He's been doing a lot of store exclusives. Has a nice Batman / Superman #50 connecting.
  7. /\/\/\/\ Did you win that? It was only listed for about 9 minutes and it was an auction format. Something doesn't add up.
  8. Whoa - why the big run up - is that normal for this book? Spec sites pumping it. Nah, someone beat them to it. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=17&Number=9194559&Searchpage=1&Main=238508&Words=moon+knight+1%3A75&topic=0&Search=true#Post9194559
  9. Hype that it's a 2nd print ala Captain Marvel #17. It may have a low print/distribution (RMA APPROVED CONTEXT), but that is it. It has a picture on the cover that doesn't really happen in the book anyway. People trying to hype it, as well as all the 2nd printings of this run. There is no comparison to Captain Marvel #17. One is the first cover appearance of a character in costume. This is simply a case of people wanting a great McNiven cover and supply / demand for a 2nd print. BTW, the cover IS an actual panel from the book and story. It was re-purposed as the cover....because it's awesome.
  10. I did that. It doesn't get large enough for you to inspect for corner and spine issues. eBay really gives you a nice magnifier to do that.
  11. Huh? Why can't you zoom on MCS pics like on eBay? If I'm dropping $1K + I really would like to get a better look.
  12. Man, I wish someone would have mentioned this book a week or so ago.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/391402405604?rmvSB=true
  13. Others are having a difference experience with interest in this movie. No matter what, in a little over a week we will know the real results. Not to me. What I was saying is that I think WB is artificially pumping the numbers. We we never know the truth except how it does worldwide compared to other movies historically. This is reporting that it will be on pace to be the number 6 or better movie of all time.
  14. I've had people at work asking me about Batman v Superman for about four months now. One of the more common questions are 'why would they even fight' and 'when does this movie come out'. So yes. There has definitely been excitement over this movie for a while now. Why would you think otherwise? Because everyone that I know that likes comics has said it looked horrible since the original "Do you bleed?" trailer. Friends that are not into comics don't talk about it.
  15. No, there is no way to know the actual print run unless you are on the inside. Think about it this way, the distribution number is 22,000. First, they wouldn't print a number like 1,467. It would be a round figure. Sometimes dealers get damaged copies and send them back for a replacement. That needs to be accounted for also. Also, what if a shop only orders 14 copies, or 2, and they don't qualify for the 1:15. That's one less that get's "printed". But, as I said earlier, they wouldn't print that exact anyway.
  16. + 1 There is no surprise to the excitement and purchasing of tickets in advance. Did you know ANYONE who was excited about this movie before the last trailer? Do you realize how big Fast & Furious is / was? Major trilogoy ON TOP of one of the last appearances before his death of one of the lead actors who was also well known. Furious 7 did over $1 BILLION at the box office. More than Deadpool? OK, he was not a major character live Avengers or Superman in mainstream before the movie. More than Avengers? It could be argued that the first Avengers movie was the second big leap for comic book movies. The first being Iron Man. The sequel had high expectations.
  17. That's the Hastings variant and it has commanded good money for a couple of years. I believe it may be one of the first store variants they did.
  18. $60 for a case of 5 of them. Still high, but better than $60 for one:p Still not good enough, I can get a deep discount at Kinko's! At my LCS today, and I noticed a few more Overlooked Campbell books I had to pick up. One of which is MCP #1 with this wraparound cover. All limited edition to a 3000 print run.
  19. 3 regular 9.8's. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8988112&fpart=35
  20. 1st Jesus has really heated up in the last two weeks. 1st Gregory on the other hand seems like a semi-dud.
