This week I was able to purchase three books that are back from CGC and tomorrow I will see the grade on Uncle Scrooge 179 that is in express graded status at CGC. I expect 9.4 which is great for a Whitman 1980 rare high grade comic such as this.The three books that I bought just back are Popeye 158 Whitman rare at 9.6 HIGHEST GRADE. the second highest to this book is 9.2 and not many are extant at this time. The second rare Whitman that I bought is Tom and Jerry 331 CGC 9.6 ,and the third is Beep Beep Roadruner 93 CGC 9.4 I am lucky to find these books for upgrades in my set. I have 64 whitmans in verrified status at CGC. These are high grade books to complete my set with and also up grades. I expect to see the grades for the books in 6 weeks. Don't you just love the wait!!!!

I am sticking with my gold key Whitman variants I sent 60 to CGC today that I have collected for my set. As far as I am concerned I have no interest in marvel or DC.I have searched for many years to get the books that I have so they are great to me.

The only gold key whitman variant re print I know of is Flash gordon 30 the 50 cent one .My set would not take Flash 30 50 cent book because it is a re print as CGC printed reprint on my 9.6 copy case. I had to buy a 9.4 of the 40 cent Flash in order for it to fill the slot.

I traded a book with Tyler and he kept great comunication and status updates with me. He has become a buddy to me and I had a great time trading with him. He is fair with and knowlegable about his comic collection. Thanks to him I have a beautiful rare comic in my set. Bonnie

If you are a completionist like me collect the hardest books to find first.This is so that you do not feel like you will pay more for them in order to complete the set.It is easier to fill in easy finds at the end.

Yes you did an I put the Super Goof 61 9.0 that you gave me for it into my set.This was an equal trade.Thank you.I bought the Black Hole CGC 9.8 for 6,250 and it will be on Doug Sulipa's Whitman site as the highest selling Black Hole#4.

I got my two pack today ba beep ba lo la lou. Call me two pack Scrooge. I went to the Guru on Whitmans Doug Sulipa and he said that this two pack is probably the only exsisting example. Thanks all for the great advise NOT to open it. For once my impatience and instinct paid off the books look around 8.0 as the seller said. Great seller too. I had to come on this thread because it is about Whitman appreciation and if anyone appreciates Gold Key/Whitmans I do. Doug has also viewed my new BH 4 on my CGC set and Pay Pal and he is posting the sale of my Black Hole 9.8 on his Whitman Page. So if you have a BH 4 you should like that news. There is a Black Hole 4 9.6 for bidding on ebay and it is the only 9.6 the third highest CGC graded. You should maybe put the tax money check into a black Hole because that is where it all goes any way just joking.

Thanks jaja I am not going to open it. It is a very low distribution of a pack from Canada. I may trade it for the CGC graded books one day if someone wants this extreamly rare un opened two pack.

This is what is on its way to me from Canada. I do not know whether to open it or grade it and add it to my set. What would you do Bellerules? This is so very rare un-opened. I can find higher grade than these to have graded but I could never find this in 20 years I think. Oh I also have a Whitman Black Hole #4 9.8 coming to me ! I AM IN WHITMAN HEAVEN !!

Hi I am a whitman collector looking to buy books for my set. I need a copy of Uncle Scrooge 179 and super goof 60 if anyone is selling look me up I pay top dollar !

My Whitman set is almost complete 180 Whitmans I need three more books Uncle Scrooge 179, Super goof 60 and 61 !! If anyone is selling I am buying. I want this set complete ! I have 150 books at CGC being graded I am ready for this to be complete afer 20 years of collecting.
