Sorry for any derailment of this thread. It's always been a favourite. Thanks also for all the advice/support. It's why I hang out so much on the CGC boards.
I'm working to get things resolved and I'll post more of the (hopefully) positive results later. Not sure yet if I'll get everything back though. Fingers crossed there. It's a bit of a mess and something I'd wish on no collector to go through.
Lessons learned the hard way I guess.

Jayman reacted to Robot Man in GA books still flying under the radar
Heck yeah! There are lot of underrated Capt. Midnight books. Here's a low end one that I have always liked.

Nerv, sorry to hear about your books. I hope you get them back.
Now how about a recent pre code purchase.
Crime Mysteries are very hard to find in this condition. I was thrilled to add this one to the collection!

Jayman reacted to Tri-Color Brian in GA books still flying under the radar
I don't think it's a lack of love...I just think nice copies of his desirable covers are really tough to find...and when you do find them, they ain't cheap...

Which makes me wonder if Marvel knew how much they were feeding into young collectors interests back in the '70s. Marvel was simply filling up content with old GA & SA stories to primarily save money I would guess. In the long run (for me at least), I loved seeing these classic reprinted Ditko, Everett and Maneely stories and inspired me to track down the originals!

Jayman got a reaction from Darth Corgi in Recent Pre-Code Purchases
Thanks DC! My 17 and 19 are raw. For 17 I love The Cartoonists Calamity! For 19 my fav is The Box of Doom! As for 18, I just love, love, love the story The Mad Mountain! Just a great little Twilight Zone type of story. Blew me away when I read it as a kid in one of the Marvel horror reprint books. Plus all done by the masterful Bill Everett!

I agree that a lot of crime goes by unnoticed...
