  1. I have 41233 total comics. 26320 are entered into a database. The grand total in the database with doubles, triples, etc. etc. is 31993 books and magazines. That comes to 934868 pages with 29.2 average pages. Total cover price $59,878.20 with an average cover price of $1.99. 103 are slabbed. This is a 41 year collection. My first book to start my lifelong hobby was Detective Comics 461.
  2. Let`s see your favorite Jack "The King" Kirby comics as we celebrate the legends 100th. Birthday
  3. Some recent Bronze pick-ups. Does anyone know if there is a Silver Age Horror thread running? Or can I just post a couple here?
  4. A few pick-ups from my LCS. 50% off sale price. Hard to pass them up.
  5. Beautiful Book! I have a couple in lower grade, but this one and HOS 94 were always 2 of my favorite covers. Can`t go wrong with an Adams cover and Wrightson artwork.
  6. After 40+ years of collecting my count is at about 40,000 books.Way too many if you ask my wife. I currently have 25,754 books logged into a database including doubles, triples...all backed up on 5 different hard drives. I started collecting around 1976, and was able to hit some drug stores and flea markets back then. My aunt was very supportive of my hobby and helped me purchase many of my early titles. She`d take my sister and me downtown to the arcades in Cleveland and I would get lost in a comic book store while she shopped. Never did she tell me that comics were a waste of time. She encouraged me to read and imagine. To this day she is by far my favorite aunt.
  7. Nice pull from HPB. I used to go there all the time. Hitting the 3 stores near me weekly. The girl would even let me go through the new books they just took in before they were put on the floor. Any book was half a buck and I scored on plenty of nice comics. Then one day some guy gets hired and becomes the king of comic book pricing. He knows NOTHING about condition, pricing, etc. Ruined the thrill of the hunt. Half Price Books turned into Overpriced Books after that.
  8. These great covers got me in the mood to post some of my recent acquisitions.Trying to knock some issues of my higher grade Horror collection. Enjoy! And Happy Holidays to all.
  9. I`ll be in Strongsville on Sunday. I talked to the promoters, more dealers and more aisle space. Last year was nice, but really confined. I`ll look for your booth and stop by.
  10. I have that issue. Nowhere near that condition though. Beautiful book! I always love the artwork of the horror comics from the 70`s, the detail is outstanding. And many times they mixed in the florescent colors which just made them POP!
  11. Some recent pick-ups, sorry, it`s been a while since I posted. Just had to have the beautiful Wrightson, so hard to find in this condition. Cain & Abel
  12. Love this thread! All killer books...no pun intended. Here`s a few I picked up a few weeks back at a local show.
  13. Always loved the cover on the Crypt of Shadows 8. Very hard to find in great condition because of the black cover. I`m always looking to upgrade my copy. Excellent comic!
  14. I would love to get this thread going strong again. Here`s a few more. Over the years the "Horror" comics weren't so popular in my group. It was always the superhero ones that my friends collected. I was into House of Mystery, House of Secrets, Weird War...etc. Not to say I didn`t do my share of collecting the mainstream characters also. But now I noticed a push for the horror stuff at shows and conventions which makes me happy when I grabbed them on the cheap many years ago.
  15. here`s a couple more, just making sure I have this down
  16. Thanks! Glad to be here. Soon as I learn how to post the images I will. Been reading the "NOOB" thread but I`m kinda confused. I`ll have my kid help me out.
  17. Hello fellow collectors, newly registered to the boards. Been collecting 40 years next June. I love the Bronze age Horror stuff! Picked a lot of these books off the shelf back in the day. Been following this thread for awhile, it`s been slow, but maybe it`ll pick up again.
