  1. pretty cool issue, although it wasn't what i expected. I was expecting alot more info on various characters. don't get me wrong it was cool and there is a good bit of info. This is probably the best book out right now.
  2. The scale of this book is huge. I can totally see this being a movie pretty soon, maybe in another year or two when we have a little more story. Babylon is definitely the apex predator though, this book is just awesome. IMO, the best book out there.
  3. If you look closely on the cover of #1 sketch variant, you will see the same hand hidden in the details of the hill. I have wondered when we will see that creature ever since. Kind of reminds me of the creature from the black lagoon. Can't wait to see this issue, so many great covers and stories to come!! This title is in the top 3 Image titles IMO. Awesomeness!!!
  4. This book is definitely complex, maybe to a fault, but I love it. A book that makes me go back and reread things for clarity is not a bad thing. I agree with the statement that when the writer tries to speak in tongues it makes it more difficult to understand. I also think that with the one shot coming next month, hopefully we will get a good bit of background info on the players. It does read better in trades IMO, and maybe by issue 50 or 75 or whatever, we can look back and see just how bada$$ this book really is. I loved this issue BTW, the balloon, the "boy", all of it. I also like how light and fluffy the last 2 pages feel knowing how dark the subject is. EoW keeps getting better.
  5. to me, what makes Matthew's work so good are the details. The details in #2 cover and the simplicity of it make it a great cover. It was my favorite cover until I saw #12. The details in #12 is what seals the deal for me as well. All the subtle little paint markings and the feathers and the facial expressions capture everything about the natives. It's just awesome. He can do no wrong so far. Actually, there isn't a cover of his that I don't like.
  6. Ya that's the best cover of the series so far. IMHO. I dig native american anything though so i'm biased. Roberts is killing it for sure.
  7. #8 is a pretty good issue. I still love the art. The story kind of stalled a little though, but with it being an ongoing title, thats ok. I'd rather th. writer take his time than try and cram too much into 1 issue. On another note, anybody got any leads on those SDCC conecting covers? Also, in the letters column they mention a variant of #8 from a different artist. So i count 2 MD books at the con. Definitely gonna have to track those down.
  8. I've heard the Hurk name before but I don't recall it coming from the comics. Where did you read it ? Hurk was the musclely white cop on the HBO series The Wire. That's the only other hurk i've heard of.
  9. Between this and Manhattan Projects, Hickman and Pitarra and Dragota are murdering all other books. No other books being published are as highly anticipated by me as these two. I am going to reread EoW tonight to get ready for #13 tomorrow. And if these pages are just the tip of the iceberg then we are all in for a treat.
  10. Anyone going to be offering those SDCC variants from the con? I have to have them both and I normally don't chase variants either! And if I didn't know better I would say the same artist did both covers. There is a similarity with the zombies' appearance, and the humans eyes particularly.
  11. I picked up a run of watson and holmes yesterday, minus #2. Is it still fetching any money? I paid $2 each.
  12. Just so happened to find one today, just sitting on top of a box near the floor of the LCS  Had about 3 nice copies in my hand on wednesday. The Marvel money machine thought went through my head and I dropped 'em like they were hot. Now i wish i woild have bought them. One auction yesterday was at $16 on the bay. I could have made a little of that Disney money!! Haha
  13. Does anyone else think the stories of the new groups' travels and survival is suspicious? Do you think horses would have lasted that long? This issue brought up so many questions for me. I would like to discuss them but I'm not sure if it would spoil anything for others or not. What is the consensus about Negan's future role if any?
  14. Well, tomorrow we get to read #7!! Also get to find out if my dinky little LCS actually gets my order right. 3 of each cover, and if I was a betting man i'd say he only gets the A covers. But I did let him know the day they were available for preorder (B cover), and he said he ordered mine and a few for the shelf. Diamond on the other hand seems always to mess his order up. Anywho, i think we have all waited long enough for the new issue. 1 more day!!
