  1. Well I know that there are 2 blue label 1.8's up for auction right now. One on Heritage and one on MyComicShop. Not sure what grade you're looking for, but it's a good starting point! Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to check these out. I'm just looking for the best copy I can find within my budget so anywhere from 1.8-2.5 I would think should hopefully be doable. Thanks again. UPDATE: eh, those 2 are pretty ugly, even for 1.8, , I think I'll keep looking so if anyone has any available please drop me a line.
  2. Sweet books guys! Speaking of upgrading, I'm looking to join this little club so I'm looking for a low grade CGC Blue label to get my foot in the door. If anyone has an under copy available or thinking of selling their current to upgrade please let me know via PM. Thanks!
  3. I just picked up a VF - 7/7.5 copy for a great deal 2 days before the movie was announced, so great timing for once. I'm somewhat new to flipping books with Movie Speculation. I don't expect a VF to command too much of a premium due to the condition obviously but I have 2 questions I hope some of you more experienced guys can answer. 1. If you were to sell a NM #98 in VF what would be your asking price? 2. When would be the best time to sell a VF copy of NM #98 in order to maximize the return? Thanks guys!
  4. Can't remember if I already joined this club but just for good measure...
  5. OK, not as impressive as Fantastic Thor but I found this for $4 at a local antique shop, bagged and boarded (I put it in the mylar though, , it was just in a ply bag originally), appears to be VF/NM+
  6. Both first printings , one Book club first printing.... and one is apparently signed Very cool - great score! Just curious, how do you tell the 1st printings apart from worthless copies, ?
  7. Ha ha, good eye! Another fellow Canadian I see... If you're selling any ASM let em know, I prefer not to have to deal with the border, brokerage, etc., !
  8. picked these up yesterday...paid $25 for both which isn't too bad but not a steal.
  9. Finally got some snaps of my comic room/office. It's heavily Spidey themed but there's a little Thor and some ghostbusters in there too, . Also some hockey and music stuff thrown in... My Spidey wall Thor in the corner My bookshelf The "vault" as I call it... And a closeup of my in progress Spidey run...
  10. Just added some sweet keys to the collection. You can see them in the Grading forum but grabbed a couple low grade 1st appearances of Mysterio & Kraven. Also, a NM copy of #194 1st Black Cat.
  11. That's a nice looking 2.0, I'm jealous! Great book, still trying to hunt one down but I dipped into my ASM #1 savings to grab a couple other books so I'll have to build the fund back up...
  12. a couple lower grade Spideys for my run... Also picked up a #66, 67, and 74 but no scans yet...
  13. Grabbed a couple Spidey keys for my run I'm working on. I gotta try to pickup less books with better grades but sometimes I can't help it. 1st Mysterio, VG-ish 1st Kraven, G-ish 1st Black Cat, VF-ish
  14. Hey guys, Sweet books. I figured I'd pop into this thread as I'm working on my ASM run and it's always been the main focus of my entire collection. I collect other titles but ASM is the only run I'm trying to collect in full. I started at 9 years old in 1994 with ASM #395 and have collected the title ever since. I missed a handful of issues between 1994-2000 I had to fill in but I have every issue from #395-700, including the new vol. 3 issues #1 and 2. I picked up the odd back issue here and there but didn't get serious about collecting the whole run until about a year ago. Since then I've filled in a lot of issues and I need about 180 issues to finish the run. I'm only 3 issues away from a full run from #298-700. Here's some recent pick ups... Wife grabbed this issue for my 29th b-day I picked this up at 50% off on FCBD...$20 which is still a litle overpriced given the condition but oh well. The next 3 issues I picked up from a local guy on kijiiji (kinda like craig's list in Canada). He basically bought them as a kid and put them away but was never interested in reading them, just liked the cover art. I got a great deal on these as he just wanted to sell them at 50% off guide price! The next 2 issues I only paid $45/each about 4 months ago. I picked up this 1st Hobgoblin (w/tatoos!) in a deal for 40ishsilver & bronze ASM books including 135, 136 for $200 so it was less than $4.50 per book, and they were all F+ so a very good deal. thanks guys! hope you enjoy them, I sure do!
  15. Love Hobgoblin, I'm working on the ASM 200s right now so I have not read it all, just the odd issue so I'm looking forward to completing the whole saga. I have read and love #238, here's mine;
  16. Thanks! This issue was an anniversary gift from the wife so it has some meaning. I'm building most of the collections in affordable grades, particularly for the Silver age, for the average issue in at least a 5 or 6 but will try to grab nicer copies of the keys (or at least the nicest copy I can afford). I've scored some nice deals, too.. #41 (1st Rhino) in low grade P/G (cover still attached and no resto) but it was only $5 #238 (1st Hobgoblin) VF 8 w/tatoos for $4.50 #135 & 136 F 6 for $4.50 each #129 (1st Punisher) for $15 but its a midgrade and missing the Marvel value stamp ^still a good score though I think - right? a bunch of VF+ McFarlane issues (including the 3 venom returns issues) for $0.50-1/each I'm also trying to collect them all in person rather than scouring ebay. Comic cons, flea markets, antique shops, etc. it makes the hunt more worthwhile to me but I know there are some deals to be found on eBay. I'm also looking to collect Simonson's Thor run which should be pretty easy to find. Also slowly working on X-men, #94-201-ish, which I hear is the best run.
  17. Hey Guys, I'm new, my first post and I'd like to join this club! This one is raw, probably a VF/NM. Just got this back in September. I'm working on a complete run of ASM #1-700. I have a near complete run from 300-700, missing 4 easy to find issues. I have about 185 to go between 1-299. Excited to join the boards! Thanks
