All of the fishermen are already out with their eBay listings.

Do you think the prices will come back down after the initial movie news frenzy fades? I slightly regret being lazy and pushing back completing my run for another day when raw and slabbed books were pretty cheap.

Yup, right on. That’s why I don’t think it was a dumb move. I’d make the same decision as well. Awesome story arc.

On another note. I just read an article about February comic sales numbers, which got me thinking about Invincible. So I looked up numbers for #126, it only had a little over 12k copies in sales. What gives, why so low? More people should be reading this book.

I don’t know man, he had a tough decision. SPOILERS

On the one hand the possibility of better reality and on the other his daughter’s existence. He was sure he’d end up with Eve again, but he couldn’t guarantee the existence of Terra if he said yes to the space-time-spaghetti-thing. Not speaking from experience, not yet a least, I’d assume a parent would say f**k off to everything and everyone for the sake of their child’s wellbeing, in this case a child’s very existence.

  4. Hi everybody! I finally caught up on Invincible, just finished #126. Mind blown. I swear this is the only title that actually stirs up any real emotion in me. I don’t really get the same experience from mainstream titles, except for Snyder and Capullo’s Batman, which is great.

    Possible SPOILERS:

In light of what happens in #126, did this interaction below from #123 raise alarm bells for anyone else? Allen you dog! My mind instantly went to an old Joe Rogan bit

  5. Hey everybody. I haven't been on the board in a long time. Even when I was, I was pretty new to the board. Finally I have some time and money to enjoy Invincible again :)

I just bought a 9.6 CGC copy of Invincible #1, I've always wanted a copy. I got it on eBay for $212.50, I didn't over pay did I?

Also picked up NM raw copies of #2 and #4. At least they were advertised as NM and looked good on eBay. I'll have to wait till I get my hands on them to make the final determination.

  6. Another noob question...

I'm looking at a piece that is the original pencils only. Does a piece like this take extra care to preserve?

Recently I purchased an art portfolio from Anthony's Comic book art to store recent purchases that are pencils with inks. Can I store just penciled pieces in the same portfolio or do I need to take extra steps for protection, aside from framing? I fear that I could some how smear the art work if I'm not careful.

    Thanks.

  7. Hey guys,

I made the jump and made my first original art purchases. Looking forward to getting these in the mail. Superman Red Son is one of my all-time favorite Supes stories and Invincible is hands down my favorite superhero title. Stoked to get actual Ottley art.

I can’t wait to get my hands on more Red Son and Invincible art down the road.

  8. Thanks Hekla :)

1.) Know the difference between blue line pencil and blue line printout.

noob question...I assume blue pencils are actual penciled drawings which are inked while a printout is a copy which is inked. Is that right? How does this play into whether or not to make a purchase or negotiating a price? Are blue printouts less desirable?

  9. I'm new to the boards and to original comic art collecting. I just wanted to say hi and thanks for all great advice and tips posted here. It's definitely enlightening for a noob like me. I currently don't own any original art.

The only piece of art I own is a Bruce Timm art print of The Flaming C, Conan O'Brien's superhero. Not sure of the rarity, but I haven't seen anything like it. The closet thing I've seen are promotion posters on eBay, for Conan's comic con appearance. In either case, I bought it cause Bruce Timm and Conan are awesome, the print looks great, and it's ridiculously funny.

I'll probably sell the majority of my comic collection to partially finance future art purchases. I have my heart set on anything Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen, especially Dan Jurgens work.
