  1. good post and reminds me of an old school coin dealer i used to sell to every time i sold him something he would comment on how "you can't eat coins" and " a washer/dryer is more important than these coins" etc etc ... he kept things in their proper perspective for me ....
  2. that's a nice song and post @Hollywood1892
  3. i bought that issue also ,,, and i kept buying them as the price went to 30 cents ,,, but when they went up to 35 cent i was outraged and quit collecting as they had become too expensive
  4. what year was that ? because $500 used to be a TON of money... even in the early 90's
  5. i passed on a full unopened wax box of 1986 Fleer basketball cards in 1986 because they wanted $16 for it when Topps baseball wax boxes at the same time were only $10 now even a wrapper is worth $15 and an unopened box is worth at least 25K the 1986 Topps basketball wax box value ?? about the same as it was back in 1986 - $12
  6. i just looked it up and it was actually 10,000 bit coins for the two pizzas , one bit coin is worth $19,000 today Hanyecz is known as the first person to use bitcoin in a commercial transaction. On May 22, 2010, when bitcoin was a little over a year old, he bought two pizzas for 10,000 BTC.
  7. at least you aren't the guy who bought two pizzas for 1000 bit-coins early on.......
  8. i bounce back and forth over the years between Comic books, Coins and sports cards , usually one will last a decade or so then i go back to another while Comics have definitely have proven to be the most lucrative of the three , they are the least liquid and take up a ton of room.... i spent a couple months solid selling on eBay when i was forced to stay at home because of covid , i did great but it is a major pain selling comics and it was almost like a full time job , i was burned out after a couple months , and now with eBay 's managed payment system it is going to be even worse when i get up the motivation and the energy to start selling again
  9. do you remember what happened when he met Al Capone ?
  10. i bought my Howard the Duck off the rack and sold it a year later for $20 !! (a small fortune back then for a 16 year old !!) i'm not sure if it even worth $20 today ? some 40+ years later
  11. this was the first issue i ever bought off the rack with my own money... my original is long gone though along with my baseball cards from the same time....(Mom tossed them)
