  1. Sorry, but that's not even a 7.0 That would be a VG range book at best if I was grading it. Maybe a VG/F tops.
  2. Besides it being impossible to please everyone, it's also impossible to be profitable while doing so. While all buyers want their books graded as tight as possible, sellers - who are doing the submitting - generally don't. So it's a fine line between pleasing those submitting books and those buying them. CGC's standard was created to keep both of those things balanced.
  3. I'm not sure why you're being snarky with me. If the collector base evolved and people who really wanted unpressed books paid more for them it would probably close the gap enough that it would reduce the 'press resub' market. I didn't make the market. The market made itself.
  4. The idea behind pressing books is to not leave money on the table. If people who weren't interested in pressed books were willing to pay the prices of what books would press up to (that would take a little education on the bidder's part but not unreasonable considering how much money people are spending on books) then you would eliminate the press / resub market. It's simple economics. But it's unreasonable to expect sellers NOT to maximize their investment while buyer wouldn't pay a premium for the virgin material.
  5. BTW, that AF #15 CGC 7.5 in the last Heritage auction went for a steal @ $156K. Someone is going to be very happy with that win.
  6. Amazing. I've been a Porsche fanatic since the early 80's, used to work for Porsche (along with a slew of other exotic car shops) and have loved the 911RS since then so it caught my eye. I've only ever seen maybe 2 or 3 ever in real life. Saw one in a parking lot in about 1987 at a grocery store I worked on and one at an Auto show 2 years ago. Yep, 911s are scary fun to drive. Loud, obnoxious and the toughest of all exotic cars to drive but so rewarding. It's the automobile version of a bumble bee - it shouldn't work because of the way it's designed but it does! The 348 is probably much more tame and balanced to drive. The fender flares on the M3 were ground breaking at the time when that car came out. The Audi Turbo Quattro GT and the M3 had them and I used to dream about making my VW Scirocco looked flared out like those cars. I almost bought an Audi Quattro GT back in the late 80's but I was a little too young and too poor to afford the $20K price tag back in the day. Gorgeous cars that flooded me with memories and sent me back in time when I saw your avatar. Glad you're enjoying them with your son.
  7. I'm more interested in the cars in your avatar. Is that a 911 (RS - no way ) a 348 and an M3?
  8. I'm going to close this thread and move the books elsewhere. If anyone is interested in them you know where to find me.

  14. Yeah. This volatile market sucks. Not my fave thing. I prefer slow and steady. Lately the hobby has felt more like the floor of a trading brokerage in the 80s than anything else.
  15. Thanks, dude! It looks like a copy of ASM #361 CGC 9.8 White Newsstand just ended up Clink for $2200 so I've adjusted my price on my copy. I've also lowered the price in the Direct copy.
  16. So you're saying I shouldn't post the ASM #1 CGC 9.6 copy that I have available? If anyone is seriously interested in an ASM #1 CGC 9.6 they can message me privately about it.I won't be posting it here.
  17. Well, I've never had any posts get 21 or 34 likes before. Where were all of you guys when I was taking my beats in the Covid-19 thread in the WC and I needed your support!
  18. Thanks. I'm just trying to avoid future arguments as I've already had a few customers come back later and want a price that was previously offered but they never bit on. Want it to be fair for everyone and not just one side.
