Yes. Wife: "I can't believe you spent that much on a comic book!" as she shakes her head. Husband (thinking only, never to be said aloud ) : "I can't believe you spent that much on your nails / hair / shoes / purse / botox / jewlery" Each shakes their heads at the other.

The discussion was about how some people are surprised that people spend a lot of money on comics, not about anyone needing to justify anything. Those same people that balk about how much money someone might spend on comics have no problem spending similar money on themselves in other ways without batting an eye. My point was merely that their perception is that it's a waste of money, when in fact it wasn't. Now we're debating all sorts of other things that were never germane to the OP's post.

It should be a 3 story arc like LOTR and The Hobbit were. Then it would be worth seeing. Cramming all of that into one movie would make it as bad as BvS

I'd agree. The vacation was a bit of a reach. But in general, my point was that 'the other half' often frown on collectibles because of the dollar amounts involved and mature collectors can generally recoup most if not all of the cost of their collectibles, which is not the case for many other types of indulgences.

They know because they buy the T-shirts for $20 in a local clothing store. To be fair, a lot of kids know a song if you play it because they are exposed to much more music than we were as kids but they may not know the details if you quiz them on the bands. One night my friend told everyone we met that I was Robert Plant. They would Google him, nod and agree that I was him.
