  1. Not sure, but I imagine customers will be charged a second time to ship it out again. Sooo....kind of like a forced resubmission program?
  2. ooooo...I like that. Kinda like The Batman...only cooler and slightly more ominous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rig3tgyYiAM
  3. As Robert Plant says when asked for advice on anyone when imitating him. Dress to the right.
  4. That is exactly what's going to happen. CGC must mail out 100's if not 1000's of packages a day. Just imagine how many will return in a year. While I don't have this problem I do sympathize with those who do. It would be nice to have some clarification.
  5. A few of us have said the same thing about making a time piece and I think it would be awesome. On an unrelated point, I'm not sure how I feel about the mergers that have been happening with Disney. While Marvel has been putting out amazing movies that I have thoroughly enjoyed watching (and I think they will continue to make great movies for some time) I am not sure how I feel about the size of the company and the market share it takes up. While not a monopoly they certain now hold the lion's share of rights to pop-culture story telling but because this is an unprecedented merger I'm not sure how that translates into that old saying of how 'competition is good'.
  6. I think there was a thread about this book / find. And I think it was a mid-grade copy. Definitely not a million dollar copy.
  7. I made the comment because I received derision for suggestion that the reason the prices were so strong was because copies were potentially upgradeable (or exceptionally nice for the grade) during the time that the auctions were happening and not even knowing whether they were going to upgrade or not. It's not even a secret gang. As I've always stated that if an exceptionally nice book for the grade (whether upgradeable or not) comes to market, it always commands a premium. It's a no brainer. The nicer the book, the greater the premium. The conversation here just gets a lot more interest and focus because we're talking about AF #15 (and a lot more money). If we were talking about an Avengers #196 that went from 9.6 to 9.8 nobody would care.
  8. A green label tells you what the grade of the book is without the defect (or in this case an unwitnessed sig) Personally, I think CGC should put both the blue label grade and the green label grade on a green label book (and I have felt this way for as long as I can remember).
  9. If you're trying to draw a correlation with page quality to show that it doesn't matter (because your stance is that White pages don't sell for more and that is the only reason I can think of why you would state PQ) you are obfuscating the facts. Eye appeal will trump page quality the majority of the time.
  10. That book is no longer in that old label slab, some people ran it up to get it and resub it. I lost out on many books from bidders buying them to break them out etc. Night, That book did actually upgrade. I received a lot of derision over a year ago for suggesting that this is why it sold for so much, but there you have it.
  11. Correct. And I think it depends on the grade for cover sigs. High grade books will get downgraded for cover sigs that are not witnessed and the sig is treated as a writing defect. So for example, a NM book with writing will either get downgraded (my guess is VF range) or placed into a Green / Qualified label. As far as I know this has always been CGC's policy. If the book is not high grade and the cover sig doesn't affect the grade then they'll just place it in a blue label and notate the writing. Interior sigs to my knowledge don't affect the grade (at least not until you get into the 9.8+ range by my guestimation)
  12. Really! It all depends on what you're bringing across and why. And the mood of the guard that day. Each crossing is ENTIRELY up to the discretion of the guard. In the US, they don't want you coming in to conduct business and take their money out of the country. Hence the need for Green Cards and Visas if you want to work in the US. They want to make sure you pay your taxes on anything you earn in the US. Similar in Canada (for Americans coming up) but they seem to be a little more lenient in that as long as you have a manifest of your inventory coming and leaving and pay your taxes they're OK with it. I've been searched heavily upon returning to Canada but it's usually more prevalent when you are just over and back over a short period of time. I guess they want to make sure you're not smuggling anything. As far as bringing money across in either direction, it's not illegal. They just want to keep track of it and you have to be able to provide a reasonable explanation of where the money originated from (again, it needs to be legal sources as they are trying to prevent money laundering). What I don't understand is why they make it mandatory to declare anything over $10K and yet often ask how much you have if it's below $10K
  13. I'm Canadian, remember? I spend half my time apologizing for your behavior. The other half of the time I'm trying to figure out (unsuccessfully) how to be funnier than Fingh.
  14. From what I understand most tickets are now gone. It looks like we are going to have a sold out show. If you're looking for a pass you'll need to talk to CGC or John Dolmayan at the Torpedo Comics booth (where the vintage comics are - he also has a booth for trades but doens't hang there much) There was talk of a few big name celebrities showing up (creators and musicians) in the audience but I don't want to spill any beans in case it doesn't happen. This is getting exciting. Doors open at 10PM and show starts at 11PM
  15. You finally quoted the right person....and not yourself again. Congrats.
  16. Post of the year. Except instead of Agent Orange, we'll call Andy Agent Green.
  17. Hopefully. Make sure you come to the music show Thursday night. PM incoming.
  18. Not as many individual comic dealers but probably similar in size once you add the OA dealers.
  19. BTW, I think we were practicing in Shavo's studio. He let us into the building and we got to meet him. Cool beans, for sure.
