I want to point out that my current scanner doesn't capture dark covers as well since CGC has gone to the new cases, but this cover is spectacularly black and deep in hand.

I love the excitement of the find and the fact that you are documenting it so well.
Unfortunately, it literally opens the entire world to the fact that you are looking at this collection and there are many people who would think nothing of either sabotaging your discussions or cutting in.
There is always the possibility that someone else has seen this stuff and knows exactly who /where it is.
I hope you guys get it and i hope that it works out awesome, but that is the reality.

Taking the 'easy path' is why people never really educated themselves on restoration.
Those that did educate themselves on restoration started to realize that even within Purple Restored labels there were huge valuation swings.
The move to the conserved label IMO forces people to better understand techniques and gives them more choices on what they want to purchased / collect.

Pressing was always going to be OK because it's too undedectable (with any degree of certainty) for anyone to try to detect it. And it is more or less benign.
Nobody is saying cleaning is 'OK', meaning it gets a hall pass. It's FREAKING noted on the label, people. It's noted on both labels. The only thing that has changed is the designation from Restoration to Conservation. It's still the SAME BOOK with the SAME INFORMATION.

    Well of course.
Whenever someone says "that book is undergraded" I just shake my head and wonder how they know - because you haven't held the book in hand.
But my point was more towards the fact that books that look strong in grade most of the time sell for strong numbers either because a collector wants a nice looking copy or someone may be buying the book because they think it is undergraded and will upgrade to the next grade level.

Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 4.5 OW pages.
A terrific looking copy for the grade. There is no Marvel chipping. That small missing piece came off somewhere during the handling of the book unfortunately.
I will try to get some more pics of it as in the scan the browns and blacks look mottled and faded. They are not. They are very deep and dark when the book is held in hand.
The book has front cover eye appeal of a Fine range copy.
    Asking $45,500

For people who love and want comics alone (or whatever your collectible of choice is) but not the rest of what cons have morphed into the priority is not always to sell tickets or fill spaces. It's to have access to the products.
If I was running a show that's exactly how I'd run it. My return on investment would come from having clear and direct access to books.
Many of today's shows are run for profitability alone, which is why you have car companies, department stores, gutter salesmen etc at shows. And there is nothing wrong with trying to run a profitable show. But there is also nothing wrong with a comic con being run like an old school comic con either.
A smart promoter will hit the bullseye with their target audience.

Foxing does not cause edge tanning or sun/ dust shadows. It's nothing like those things.
And anyone who has handled a lot of raw books knows that foxing has an effect on paper suppleness. Generally books with foxing have terrific paper quality in my experience.

DD #7 might just win the prize for a SA Marvel with THE MOST production defects on a single book.
Ink transfer, Marvel chipping, printing roller marks, bent staples, miswraps, miscuts. Whatever Marvel was doing when this book was printed is a mystery but I've never seen one issue prone to so many defects.
