  1. I love that cover. I am going to be offering some prices for the books which have covers i love, this included. Yeah, I love the Weird War covers from 1-12. Strange that the weakest one of the bunch, IMO, is 8 by Neal Adams. I was thrilled to get copies of those two in 7.5 for dirt, dirt cheap. Sometimes it pays to take chances on eBay. Being on a budget isn't all that bad then? Nope! I actually like it. The chase a bit more fun and certainly more of a challenge.
  2. I agree. I've never touched a HoS 81 yet...ever. That book looks better than some slabbed 9.4 copies me and povertyrow were laughing at some months back when they appeared on Heritage... Here is a larger scan. The top spine corner is a bit frayed, but the QP is right on and the eye appeal is great. http://www.imagehosting.us/imagehosting/showimg.jpg/?id=453172

  4. He had it at 7.5. I would say 7.5 with a chance at 8.0. The FC is very nice, but there is slight foxing on the BC spine. Great eye appeal and a tough book in anything over 6.0 it seems like.
  5. Here are a few recent pickups. I got the Weird War 2 and 12 for $13.50 total with shipping. They were listed without scans and I took a chance.
  6. The Duck in the Iron Pants is my all time favorite Bark's story. I love the end when they make a stove out of his armor and spend the winter out in the fort cooking hotdogs!
  7. Guess there was only one issue.... http://www.atlasarchives.com/magazines/gothicromances.html
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=12592&item=6531135953&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Never seen that series before. How many are there?
  9. Tons...My man Brad (aka Red Hook) is the insane graphic guru...all of these will be the base of customizable "skin" templates for my web site when it goes live later this year... Nice. I took a look at Hook's site not long ago, lots of great stuff. What is your site going to be? Books you have for sale? Other comic related things?
  10. How many of those sig line graphics do you have? They all look cool by the way... Elric v. Conan!
  11. 36 long boxes. Where do you find room for all that? I assume you live in a house. I have maybe 8 longboxes and I doubt I could find a place for them in my apartment.
  12. "Only"! That's 4 or 5 longboxes worth isn't it? Does anyone know how many books there are total for BA DC?
  13. Good one! I would have put this in the proper thread, but I didn't want to bump that piece of garbage. Raven and Hobgoblin both live in some bizarro world where "everything is as real and valuable as I want it to be!" I need to move there. I can live in my eleventy billion dollar house while admiring my original copy of the Constitution and Canterbury Tales first edition. Andy, you scared the hell out of me for a second! I was wondering what brainfart would have caused me to post a reply to raven in this ducks thread
  14. You have a nice Rai 5 and Magnus 12? Sid, that is a serious amount of comics. 5 longboxes of bronze DC horror?

  16. Literally FOUND? How do you file your books? Some people just have misc. piles laying all over the place and others are completely anal. I'm pretty organized and know where everything is but I never remember what actual issues I have, so I always have to go check to see if I have something or not. How many books do you guys have? People always talk about how they came across a longbox they hadn't seen in 10 years or something like that. I only have about 1,500-2,00 books, so I pretty much know exactly what I have and where it is.
  17. I guess you missed out when redf1shing bought a RAW HoM 193 from nickat for about $250. Yeah, I missed that one. If you are going to drop that kind of coin why not just buy a slab? I am not up on the HG slab market, but a 9.2 or 9.4 couldn't be much more than that, could it?
  18. Yes, we DO, but then you say "too much" On CGCed stuff I do. What's the point in paying extra for the grading fees and label when I am just going to crack it out anyway? Stop doing crack!! I gotta break this habit before it breaks me!
  19. That book cost me about $70. Sid got it for like $15. The median grade I got from his books were 9.0. A DMFL book graded NM by him came back 6.5. Ahh, the naive days.... I think I had one or two books actually grade out the grade. Hint: It helps to come up with an accurate grade if you remove the book from the mylar. Ouch. Sounds spotty indeed. Buying on eBay is rough is you are only into HG. I assumed by his feedback and auction success that he was one of the good ones. The old saw about "assume" proves true once again....
  20. You bought that from Nickat? I always wanted to buy stuff from him but never got around to it. His books did go for good money. Glad I missed out now.

  22. Enjoy the Weird War 7 ya jerk! Doesn't anyone read my sig line?
  23. Very nice (like all your Duck books)!
