  1. Just got mine back... Original copy I bought and read back when it came out! I guess if I hadn't read it, it may have been better!
  2. OK, got these back yesterday... most are what I expected. The PLOD JLA #1 was NOT expected... no idea there was a tear seal, especially when I bought it in 1988! Also, pretty sure the Action 252 did NOT have those blackish spots (burn marks??) or that vertical tan shadow when I had it pressed by CCS... But stupid me didn't take a pic beforehand, so not at all sure. Anyway, here goes! Unexpected PLOD!! My first! Not sure where the black specks (mid left, near Superman's elbow) or that vertical tan shadow came from. Pressing artifact from CCS? NOT blaming anybody... just didn't remember that on a book I've had for 25 years. My favorite book and grail when I was a youngster! Bought this with the JLA 1 in a package deal in 1988 One of my favorite covers of all-time (gotta' love the PQ) More JLA love Love the giant turtle! And purple is my favorite color... (PQ goodness here too!) From my favorite movie of this past summer! (Yeah! nice PQ!) I've always loved the Sentinels! My favorite girl from my early collecting days!
  3. I had two books graded on-site at Philly and they showed up on the census about two or three weeks after the show. Not sure why yours wouldn't be on there yet though. They didn't even have your invoice number when you called them? The number on your slab comes from that invoice number.
  4. WOW, I love this! Grade be damned, it's signed by the man!!
  5. Thanks! I've actually owned all of these books for quite some time now.... just got around to grading them is all. And yeah, I love the Adventure Comics 210 too! Krypto was a huge favorite of mine growing up.
  6. Thanks! I'm pretty crazily excited! I never EVER imagined this book to blow up like it has when I started collecting.
  7. Here's a pic of mine finally... I'll be investing in a scanner soon.
  8. Got my first submission back yesterday! Also, at the end are two that I had graded on-site at the Philadelphia Comic Con (WW). Sorry for the awful cell phone pics! I'll be investing in a scanner soon... Cheers! And these... from Philly... BAM! Thanks for reading/looking!!
  9. Thanks! I am pretty excited! I have held onto that book for over 25 years now. I knew it was a good book, but no idea it was that good! When I peeled back the CGC form to see the grade, I was pretty pleasantly surprised! Before submission, one of the Heritage guys told me 6.5, maybe 7.0. Another "reputable" dealer graded it as a 6.5-7.0 as well, appraising it at $1800 (pre-slab), meaning his offer to me would've been less than that by a fairly large percentage. He wanted me to tell him what I wanted for it (and a bunch of other OAAW's). I declined to give any dollar value to him. I hate being seriously low-balled, then made to feel like a villain when I'm being "unreasonable" with my request based on a reasonable market value.
  10. Hey! Just joined the forums... Long time war (really Sgt Rock) collector... I have a complete OAAW run and Sgt Rock's through 368 or somesuch. Anyway, I was at the Philadelphia Comic Con and had an OAAW 81 and OAAW 83 graded on-site. My 81 came back Universal 6.0 and my 83 came back Universal 7.5! These are the very first books I've ever had graded. I picked up both comics in either 1987 or 1988 at the San Diego Comic Con... I picked up several other early Sgt Rock's from the same collection (86, 90, 91, 99, and 100, probably a bunch post-100). I remember paying $100 for the 81 and $60 for the 83. I'm waiting on grades for my 91 and 100, which should come back similarly graded (maybe higher). I also submitted a GI Combat 68, OAAW 82, OAAW 128 and a OAAW 151. They're mid-grade at best. Happy collecting all!
