  1. This is awesome. When I was going through multiples in my comic collection, I looked up each issue to see if there was anything of significance to potentially warrant a higher price, or holding onto it for now. I noticed that this was the first appearance of the Time Variance Authority, which I had never heard of, so I assumed it wasn't particularly important, but put it aside anyway.
  2. Except Dinesh is definitely a *comics* fan. He wants to make comics. That there is a profit potential in adaptation into other media is a huge plus, of course, but I don't think that's the "only" reason.
  3. That's right. After they made me, they broke the mold. And they beat the mess out of the mold-maker.
  4. Someone once said that there are only two stories; a person goes on a journey, and a stranger comes to town. Everything is variations of those two. Kindt has written enough interesting comics that I think this won't be a clone of something else.
  5. Quantum & Woody (2017) #1 2nd print: 1 copy exists Unity #1 Golden ticket editions: 1 copy exists of each of 5 variants Bloodshot Salvation #12 Vin Diesel as Bloodshot edition: 1 copy exists
  6. They've released a single image and you've concluded already that they're ripping off two specific things?
  7. If you're familiar with Valiant, then think of what they did for Divinity, Book of Death, Secret Weapons, or Savage. Higher quality cover stock with a soft touch finish.
  8. It'll get to the point that unless you pre-sold at marked up prices on eBay before release day, you missed the boat
  9. They didn't say perfect bound. I'm assuming prestige format will be the same format as Valiant's prestige format, since that's where most of the people involved came from. I don't know how many they'll actually get out there, but I fully expect that there will be more than enough interested buyers (considering the quality of the creators involved) unless they purposely overprint, but that seems unlikely, considering they want to limit purchases to one-per-customer, so there shouldn't be any significant volume left to return. Considering that there are ties to a television/movie production company as well, I imagine that adaptations will be another stream of revenue for the creators involved.
  10. Maybe. But it sounds like they're trying to subvert Diamond's monopoly on distribution. Building another viable option can't be bad if it works.
  11. Thoughts on the business model? https://www.bleedingcool.com/2020/02/06/bad-idea-comics-digital-collections-no-variants-one-per-customer-twenty-stores-only/?fbclid=IwAR1KqILbhewKc_WYySW0P25Mk2HOk7PnfLuKmT_9qBZ29d9IgCXsDwBj0lo
  12. Vision & the Scarlet With #12 is getting really good action too.
  13. The Morbius: Legion of Monsters one-shot from 2007 has had some good results recently
  14. Now I'm wondering what a comic illustrated by Escher would look like
  15. So now people want the one issue of the Platt Moon Knight run that Platt didn't do interiors for? Yay!
  16. Regarding the X-Factor issues, are the back cover ads the same on the Direct and Newsstand? I ask because the Spidey head (or various other art on later issues) is very likely there so that the printer can run the same Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow plates for all covers, and only switch the black plate for the Newsstand vs. Direct run. If they're printing different ads on the back cover, then they need to run all 4 plates either way, so they can safely drop the art box.
  17. Is it bascially all of the Baxter titles? Should New Gods, Heckler, Haywire, and Hawkworld be added to the list?
  18. I started this thread a year ago today to try to compile a list:
  19. Those Nick Fury, Agent of Shield issues only come with a barcode. There is no separate Direct & Newsstand.
  20. Ah, is there something going on the with Mr. Fixit persona currently? I wasn't aware
  21. This seems like a lot of money for these books (first result). https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=wolverine+7+8+1989&_sacat=1&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=12&_sadis=15&_osacat=1&_odkw=wolverine+7+8&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_stpos=10018-8481 Is it because of the McFarlane pinup?
  22. I sold my (Modern) Gaiman Eternals mini too early, considering speculation that the movie will incorporate elements from that mini. My (Modern) run of Shang Chi in Journey Into Mystery remains unsold. A little surprised considering the low numbers for those for that era (but someone did grab the Black Widows)
  23. Well, I guess I'm done buying incentives from them then. If I want to buy one, I want to lock that in by pre-ordering. Probably for the best since I've had orders for them canceled numerous times in the past
  24. There's a perfectly appropriate thread in Bronze to discuss the relative merits of these bronze books
  25. Haha. Just catching up on this thread, and my reaction was, "Maybe I can't find that in the wild, but why would I want to?"
