Thanks. It is. I didn't really like the cover to issue 201, so I put a painting in its place. The origin of that creepy painting is a strange one. One day Darth Korgi challenged myself and two others (including himself) to create an image from the phrase "three balloons" and for some reason this idea popped into my head, so I painted it. Probably because I'd been reading a lot of 70s horror comics at the time (and still am).
Is that a Tabar original? Very creepy! -
135 shouldn't be that expensive. I don't remember paying a lot for my copy. Good luck on that collection!

Those are two awesome covers!

Great stuff!

This is the rarely seen alternate cover to Unexpected 201.

Sadly, I lost my copy of this one. But I remember reading it at a Meijer Thrifty Acres on the rack while waiting for my mother. I found it so creepy I didn't want it. Years later, I remembered it and got a copy.

Thanks for posting all of this stuff, gentlemen! I've never seen or even heard of some of these comics.

Wow great twist ending on this!

Excellent cover!
Another Heath cover, this one is a favorite of mine! One of my faves too. Really exceptional book to see in hand.

Man is this guy good! Thanks for showing it!
Another Heath cover. -
Wow Jayman! Thanks for the info!. Unexpected, Weird Mystery Tales, Witching Hour and Ghosts are my special favorites, but I do like those two Houses!
I recently purchased a graphic novel which reprinted all of those Dial H For Heroes books because I was curious about it (I saw it in Who's Who, the DC Directory back in the mid-eighties). I hope I like those stories as much as the later stuff!

Hey, thanks for letting me know!
Thanks comicnoir and Brad Tabar (Bill Ward did the cover). -

Great cover and a great copy! Baker is incredible!
Happy to pick up this one at NYCC.Congratulations. Looks nice.

This cover is aces!! But who did it?
Here's one I picked up in the last CLink auction that was high on my want list after seeing Dr.Love's awesome Church copy.Definitely on my short list of favorite romance covers.
Nice score.

No problem! I can't get enough of 'em. Keep those comics coming!! I just wish I had more stuff from this era to show you guys, but they are currently a bit outta my price range.
Thanks Brad, you are a comic enthusiast, always nice things to say. Happy collecting buddy!Love this cover! This book was totally worth buying, rip or no rip!Ripper cover. The similarities between ME's Starr Flagg(aka Undercovergirl), and Atlas' Venus as far as 'blonde in red' in outrageous situations on the cover are startling(although the Venus covers are far more revered and known) the Starr Manhunt covers are no slackers, and Starr did debut in Manhunt before the Venus run .I've always liked this Whitney cover, very creepy.

That whole issue was good, but in particular the story associated with that cover.
Cool! I like the Weird Mystery #2, that's the first time I've seen this one. -

Awesome cover! This guy is good!
Here's a book featuring a cool Heath cover (and it's a very pretty 5.5).There's never a bad Heath war cover - great book (and one I'm after, dammit).
You're right! I love all the Heath war covers. I will post a few more soon.
I purchased a stack of them from one of your fellow counrtymen last year.
in your quest for this book!

Great cover! I've gotta check this book out!

Thanks man! I was a little too young when this one came out to get it off the rack (I didn't start collecting until 1973) But I love these seventies horror books! I just wonder when Unexpected, House of Mystery, and House of Secrets became this cool! I've heard the earlier ones, from the sixties, weren't quite as great, probably due to the comics code. The ban against horror was lifted in 1970, wasn't it?
I found issue 127, rather damaged, in a box at a shop in the Orlando area. I 'd never seen it before and immediately was captivated by that great cover!Cardy at his finest, such great atmosphere!
I agree! unexpected 127 was one of (if not the first) issues I ever had. I haven't read it in years but I can still see the piper sinking in the quagmire singing "Follow me, follow me...Ha, ha, ha!"
Such are the images that get burned into your brain...
All great books Brad!

I just recently read this in Haunted Horror. What a twisted story! Great to see the original!
A favorite of mine from Strange Stories From Another World #2. I really like the 10 page format for these stories Fawcett used.It gave them space to create a nice creepy tale. Shiverbones first posted about this story years ago and now I finally have my own copy, enjoy!

Thanks, guys. Ingles is certainly a favorite for many. Darth Korgi is a huge fan, too, from what he's told me.

Great covers, especially on number 5.
