  1. As buyers, should we expect dealers at cons to beat or at least match ebay auction house buy it nows? No, I never expect it as a buyer and I give a slight premium to being able to look at every page of the actual book. Ebay can be really dicey for certain books; I've had sellers try to send books other than pictured among other things, that can be a pain to deal with. I'm fine negotiating, but I don't like pointing out I can buy the same graded book cheaper online. Just ask what their best price on x is? If it's close you know you're in the ballpark, if you're worlds apart just move on.
  2. my bid was cancelled, i'm going to just not bother with anything else this guy sells.
  3. The pics with the tape damage were not visible until today for me. Not sure exactly when the seller added them but some people may be bidding based on the original pics he had up. Then again, it is private so no idea if there's funny business going on here.
  4. Still showing in stock for me. Also if anyone cares, for both issues+shipping to So Cal, it's about $67 if they don't want to the math themselves. Shipping was about $8 of that. It's showing OOS on the last page of checkout.
  5. Its sold out when you try to check out. Edit: nvm, seems to be working now. Thanks for the heads up!
  6. It seems that I should just start throwing my best and final offers to people that list the ones on my want list
  7. What did the tracking number say during the time period it went missing? From what i remember it showed an arrival scan in Cali then nothing for weeks until it showed a scan at my local FedEx hub in NY. FedEx couldn't find it when I called them trying to figure out what happened to it; it just showed up one day.
  8. As some others have said, don't lose hope yet. I've had an overnight package delivered a month late by FedEx. Hopefully, it turns up.
  9. Search for it on their search box, it's the top result. I'm not sure why that link doesn't work since it's the page the result takes you to.
  10. Buy it (not sure if you need or have this one) *not my book* I just bought one this month, but I want to see if I got a good deal. I 'think' I did okay on the price but another sale would go a long way. Jerome Ok hedge your bet and buy a second copy Buy every one that pops up and corner the market!
  11. The seller declined my offer for all 3 and told me the 510 was sold to someone. Whoever bought it got it at a price I was willing to bid over had it been an open auction. Oh well. Time to wait for the next one.
  12. It can definitely benefit from a press but I'm around a 8.5-9 pressed. I asked the seller for a better pic of the bottom edge on the front cover and the request was just ignored. Makes me think there's a bit of imperfection there that can't be clearly seen from the way the book is pictured. Still waiting for someone to post up a 9.8.
  13. I took an offer at the exact price the last one sold @. I'm assuming the reason this isn't tracking correctly is that ebay is recording the sale price as full sale price on the listings on any item where the seller ended up making an offer to the buyer via the ask a question response form. I've tested that with a coworker today and sure enough it shows up as selling at full price at all the ebay stat trackers even though he took an 1 cent offer from me. This is actually something that could? be abused to throw off GPA data if it shows up at the wrong price when their api updates.
