  1. I like a lot of the new features, but I don't like the look of the new fourms.  I think it's the lack of division between posts, etc.  It's very hard for me to make out where things start and stop.  I suppose I'll get used to it, but dang, I want something on the screen to break everything up so it doesn't look like one giant flow of information.

  2. Jay if all I have to do is ask then I wish you had a:

Deathmate Preview Green Comic Defense - 9.8

    Deathmate Preview Orange - 9.8

Dealthmate Blue Gold - 9.8 :wishluck:

    Deathmate Epilogue Gold - 9.8

    V1 Harbinger 6 - 9.8

    MRF 0 (non-retailer) - 9.8

    Vintage MRF 2 - 9.8

    Solar 4 - 9.8

    Solar 10 -9.8

If you had any of those lying around, I'd be a happy camper.

    lol

Correct me if I'm wrong, Chris, but I'm pretty sure that's exactly what you've done at least a few times or two in the past :/ ; and IIRC, we got 'em hooked up  .

At this stage, though, not promising anything, but I'll keep my eyes peeled to see if I can dig up at least one or two of those on your list in the future ;) .

    Thanks Jay! :wishluck:

  3. Are there any modern scanners that work for slabs? My trusty Microtek i700 is failing. I'm struggling to find a replacement won't cost an arm and a leg to deliver.

I'm guessing no since most newer consumer grade/entry pro grade scanners use CIS instead of CCD.

Anyone had any experience with modern scanners?

I can use that type of help as well.

I'm looking into some modern CCD scanners. Epson makes some, but I'm hesitant to buy without trying.

  5. eBay is going nuts over the VALIANT Savage 1 1:50. Bids are already at $880 for a single raw issue.

VALIANT fans are very interested in this book as it Dinesh mentioned it will have the lowest print run of any VALIANT title to day. Considering Divinity 1 1:40 had 350 issues printed, it is a low print run.

This is why I generally stay aware from Modern Variants and read via trades, either way I'm not sure if this is good for VALIANT o not. I haven't read Savage (yet) but all accounts are it's a great story coupled with great art.

There is now a second copy of Savage 1 1:50 on ebay. It's already at $200.

  6. Another one I can't find after being on the hunt over the last year or so is Solar: Man of The Atom #10 in very high grade. I lucked upon one 9.8 candidate in a dollar box that had just about all of the 90s Valiant keys you would want (non variants), all of these seemingly unread. All the other copies I've come across have been FN+ at best.

Another I seldom see is the last issue of Toxic Avenger from Marvel, I think #11. Not a valuable book, but I never see them.

I've come across several SMOTA #10s in 9.8. I finally picked one up for myself. Other VALIANT books I can't find as 9.8 candidates are:

    SMOTA 4

    Deathmate Blue Gold

    Deathmate Epilogue Gold

    Deathmate Previews

    Vintage MRF 2

The Vintage MRFs were a huge PITA. I got lucky and found 1, 3, and 4 from a single seller.

  8. Are there any new scanners that work well for Slabs? My Microtek i700 is getting long in the tooth. I'd like to pickup a modern network enabled multi-function laserjet for the house, but I doubt any of the legal sized multi-functions will scan a slab worth a damn.

I buy all my monthlies Ed. His customer services is the best and I get many 9.8 candidates and have even pulled some 9.9s from books he's shipped me. Keep in mind I'm 2700 miles from his shop so that includes shipping to me.

You'll need to contact them to setup a subscription, but it's worth it. There online store also has good deals quite often. If you want TPBs they can arrange that as well.
