The Mary Janes 7" Face it Tiger Spider-Gwen
Contacted another seller and hit him with a $75 first offer. He immediately declined. I then resubmitted an offer for 130.50 (from what the last auction sold for). He counter offered with $190 with a notation of, 'This is the best I can do on it'.
Seriously?
Oh well, I'll just wait for someone to dump their copy not realizing its price with a cheap BIN.
-
We'll I was trying to get a copy for whatever the shop was selling 'em for...
Guess not now...
Went from $76 to $130 in under 30 seconds.
Yeah, I was hoping to get one too. Was told that they were limiting them to 1 per person.
Was also told (by their FB page) that whatever was left would be sold on their website.
It didn't make it that long.

Cant believe that iZombie is being released next month and the comic is not even showing signs of heating up.. Its kinda funny how it sold over double the current asking price when it was first optioned.. Crazy times we live in
Probably because the preview looks awful.

Miles is Peter Parkers future.
I bought two last night just in case . Im also on board with Battle Scars #1 and Batman/Superman #8.
What's the deal with Battle Scars #1 and B/S#8?
I thought the whole Colson thing was dismissed and pushed onto a give-away from a Walmart special...

I feel like the only guy here that hasn't read Rom
you weren't the only one. He really looked like a polished turd...
-
Not to derail, but...
I have a fondness for Liefeld as well.
I freely admit it.
+1
I liked his NM stuff.
In the end, though, Rob was like a top prospect on your favorite sports team, who starts off hot. You think, wow, this guy is really good, he's gonna keep developing into the next big thing. Then, he doesn't, and you realize that early stuff was as good as it got.
Think Kevin Maas, circa 1990.
Yeah, Rob Liefeld was Jose Canseco of comic world -- in more than one way. puns and literal intended.

I kind of liked Jae Lee's take on Inhuman's and his stint on X-Factor during the X-Cutioner's Song series. To each there own though, I want to punch Mike Allred in the face every time he takes over a series because of how bad his art is. I figured I always know when Marvel is purposely trying to tank a series when his name is attached to it. Same can be said with Squirrel Girl and honestly the previews of the new Silk series.
I opened the first page of Squirrel Girl, saw the art, and simply put the comic in my daughter's pull list pile of Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Pony ...
And the Silk series.... ANYONE would have been better than what they released as the preview to me.
I actually really enjoy Allred's work. His work on X-Force/X-Statix was very refreshing and fun. Also, his run on FF (while it lasted) and Silver Surfer are great. I'm actually quite the opposite on my stance with him, I usually decide on whether to pick up on a new title because of creative team change-ups. Not to mention I love his covers on Batman '66!
Squirrel Girl is a hoot at this point. Issue #2 was this past Wednesday and I've yet to read it yet. But that first issue was sure fun and if it's any sign of the future of the series, I'm down for it.

My question is -- How many of these sellers are taking pre-orders and they aren't going to be fulfilled? refund central based on the supposed 3k print run...
If past is any indication some might oversell. It happens at least paypal and or ebay have some buyer protections.
Doesn't that people off?
I mean if I purchased something and they didn't have it available and I'm left to go back into the market and possible pay more I'd be highly pissed off.

Wanted to share the commission I had done by Robbi Rodriguez. One of his last ones.
These variants are going crazy. I grabbed one of each so far. Thanks for the tip on the newbury comics variant.
If you guys could do me a favor and vote on my poll over at Larry's Google+ page I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Yeah, I've been trying to get Robbi to do a commission for the past 3 months. I can't even get him to reply to my messages on FB. I got a comment from one of his followers that he's no longer doing commissions and all of his OG art is digital, so original book work purchases are impossible.
You were very lucky to snag this piece.
If you every would like to trade or sell please keep me in mind.
I'm not a dealer and I purchased 250 copies of issue #1 as soon as they were put through Diamond, he's a large account so I got a great discount --
200 Reg.

Marvel Knights INHUMANS by Paul Jenkins & Jae Lee was really good. Highly recommended! Jae's artwork is great. You should see his 1st comic work on NAMOR in the 90s. That stuff was horrendous. INHUMANS and 4 (the Grant Morrison Fantastic For mini -- another Marvel Knightsproduction) were what put his art on the map.
I swore him off years ago because of Namor when did his art improve?
The second Hellshock series is when his style changed. Love his new style...
His originally style was like the dude who did 'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark', creepy as funk.

For $1000, I'd hand deliver up to 300 miles.
-
Does anyone have the numbers on the print run on Squirrel girl #1?
-
Problem with Catwoman 51 is that the prices jump all over the place.
Seems like $20 is a pretty safe bet. Unfortunately, that's not high enough for me to sell it.
Patrick
I have never understood why other ah covers frm that series arent in demand. i would think that some of the later issues have much lower print runs that 51 and covers that are at least as good.
The others are creeping up.
I absolutely love cover #70 over #51...
-
A few things possibly...
1. The word 'rare' seems to have a few speculators buzzing
2. Over bid too early to obtain the title.
3. Shillington biddinglsy
Anyone know why this one is selling so well?

^fine print details...

The few shops I go to locally are talking about Spider-verse Team-up #2 running very low, anyone else getting that information from their shop owners?
-
I'd love to see Bedlam take off... It was a great book!
-
I really enjoy the character -- let's try not to overkill her use.
I don't want to start seeing her like Deadpool every month on a cover.
-
Was hoping that Runaways was going to fly under the radar for a few months longer as I'm finding them for under $10 ea. at my LCBS for issue #1 series 1.
The good and bad of eBay.

How about this book for future potential...
Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #0 -- look for the opposing page to the Deathlok digital code advertisement.
I SMELL CABBAGE (the kind with dead presidents on them! )
