  1. I'm not sure if there is a thread for this or not but I'll have a crack anyway. So let's see your remarked book, no sketch covers just original books that have a little extra added onto them. Be it a Asm 129 with a cockroach drawn on it. Or a hulk 181 with a few extra head sketches. Here's one to start us off, it's a work in progress but its getting there

  2. People have to realize this guy was in the Spider-gwen thread, im sure in NM#98 thread and so fouth and he was ripping on those as well. he think's because he spent his kids college money on a couple of high priced books in his sig, that he the great and powerful wizard of Collector society...

Whatever happen to forums rules that specifiy that " If you don't like something, simply just don't comment and leave it alone." apparently that doesn't apply here on CS.

I'm interested why you would want to shut JDR up? He presents his arguments cogently, if somewhat aggressively. And everyone is free to evaluate the logic and worth of each post. I think the main thing with JDR is that he always uses the terminology of "crashing"

I don't see it as crashing at all. It is a period of irrational exuberance that leads to artificially propped up highs. Whether these are fomented by shilling or not is typically a case by case analysis. But those artificial highs, when they correct, can correct precipitously. And for those who are heavily invested, or who have bought in at the top of the market, it certainly looks like a crash.

Never said i wanted to "shut him up" but realistically and im not the only one that notices it, he is constantly bashing on modern titles, especially ones that start to climb up in some decent value.

everyone is entitled to comment on anything on this forum, but it tends to get old and quite annoying real quick when you always see the same person bashing titles that this one person doesn't own or like....

People have to face it that BA#12 in any decent shape or grade is going to fetch good money. Harley Quinn is for some reason a hot character and apparently with the way her current modern series is selling and how Margot robbie has been signed to play her in more then one film is that Harley is here to stay....

I agree with the fetch good money thing. But if it settles back down in the $800-$1200 range for a 9.8, what does that mean for the people that may buy in at irrationally (My terminology) high levels like $2000-2500 or even higher. That is still real good money, but to the top end purchasers, it doesn't feel good.

Yeah it sends shivers up my spine when I look at the gpa to see books that have sold a few years earlier for triple of what they are now. I think I remember seeing a 9.8 Asm 129 go for 13 and a hulk 181 go for 25 or even 18.

  3. The $1999.99 book was mine, 100% legit... Mailed it out today, I have 5000 more feedback than the guy selling the $1800 9.8, Maybe that's what did it? I know if I were spending that kind of money it might make a difference.

Well a big congratulations goes out to you for setting the new benchmark. Hooray for this guy. As a 2x 9.8 owner I thank you. Haha

I think a lot of factors come into play... how it is listed... Sellers feedback... etc... sometimes my stuff sells less then what the market is selling mostly I think bc the way I present my listings... Im lazy in that sense..

I know how you feel. I'm super lazy with my listings. I sold a book for 3500 the following week one sold for 4100 kinda stung a little.

  4. The $1999.99 book was mine, 100% legit... Mailed it out today, I have 5000 more feedback than the guy selling the $1800 9.8, Maybe that's what did it? I know if I were spending that kind of money it might make a difference.

  5. I know the seller and it is legitimate!

It's in GPA as a BIN. Any idea why he set the BIN so low? And it seems strange that he put the verbiage in about not getting ripped off and claims that's exactly what happened to him. Any more info on the story?

Yeah because he was a first time seller of such a large book eBay only allowed him to sell up to 4k on his page. Iv had the same problem in the past when I first started. He said he had a bunch of bills come in and had no choice to throw that book up. He gave me the guys eBay name and I searched it on here. And it was in the eBay scammers list. Said he had photos of him sending it, proof from the post office it arrived. And I gave him the link to here with the guys name in the list. And he still lost. Iv lucked out to scammers in the past and I know what he's going through. It sucks.

    kidzip81is the buyers eBay name.

  6. Margot Robbie signed for a 10 year multi-picture deal. So it might be a while before prices cool back down.

Harley Quinn has been featured in alternative media before. And multiple Guardians movies on the docket didn't stop those books from tanking. Nor did it stop TMNT #1 from correcting significantly. There's no reason to expect anything different here even if the movie is successful and/or isn't an overly bloated mess.

    This time won't be different.

    -J.

Not every book tanks after the (first) movie. Harley doesn't equal Groot, or Turtles.

Since shillers and speculators are what are largely driving the price of this book as they did the Guardians books (ie, market manipulation), history is not on her side.

You mean the entire crazy market right now? Hard to say where it will end. :insane:

It's even hitting GA books now. doh! I think that either means we are nearing the end of something or are at the beginning of something new. I just haven't figured out which one it is yet. lol

    -J.

I know what you mean, everything is spiking of late. I know it's a really long shot of me to say but do you think the sale of the Action comics #1 for 3 mill is what stirred up the market?

  7. You have got to be kidding! What an amazing deal. I am so jealous that I didn't see it first!

i've been talking to the seller over eBay and he's told me that the guy he sold it too is ripping him off.Saying that he never received the book but he has proof from the post office it was received. And he lost the case against eBay so not only did he undersell his book but he had to refund the guy the 4k as well. He gave me the guys eBay namebe and guess what? The buyer is in the eBay watch list.

  8. I know the seller, I'm going to ask and see if he actually got paid. As far as I'm concerned he has 2 copies.

Glad i got my 9.8 LONG ago.

Did noticed 2 new listings though, one from MCS at 2485 and another listed at 2295 with best offer.....yet the one listed at 1875 still hasn't sold. hm

Yeah I see that, who would pay 125 more for something if they don't have to. Saying that though a fellow boardie had another book up to find out a 7 year old kid hit the buy it now button lol.
