  2. I went 1-39 on the exclusive lottery and it's the 1 I don't even want lol. But I do like this new system, it's nice getting rejected right off the bat so I don't wait in line for 8 hours and then get rejected.
  3. Thanks for the replies! I guess I'll just put them as-in into toploaders or Archive sleeves with Full-Backs.
  4. Apologies if this has been answered before, but does the seal get damaged if popped open? I'd like to add some Full-Back boards to my signed JSC books but I don't want to seal to break if I remove it. Is it a tamper-proof seal or just a sticker? Thanks in advance!
  5. I like the new lottery system that some vendors are participating in. Nothing more gut-wrenching than waiting in line for hours only to get denied. I'd rather get denied right off the bat and use that time doing something else. I'm really bummed that Marvel isn't participating in Hall H this year. And of course, I'm looking forward to seeing some insane comics in the dealer booths
  6. What's FMV for a 1.0 these days? Based on those 3 recent low-grade sales quoted above, the price-per-point 1.0 equivalent comes out to $46k, $38k, and $35k. Is the $35-45k range realistic for a 1.0 or would it fetch closer to $50k? Obviously depends on the book/eye appeal, just looking for some sort of baseline.
  7. @rtsunlimited That is beautiful! What's the story behind it?
  8. X-Men 14 Defenders 10 Iron Man and Sub-Mariner 1 per PM
  9. Some well-known comic book dealers offer badges if you commit to spending some money in their booth. If you're planning to buy comics anyway, this is a very good route.
  10. This. Comics today are worth more than they were before, and will likely be worth more in the future, but the opportunity cost of not having that money tied up in more traditional investments is potentially high. Comics are not a better investment than index funds or real estate. Full stop. For this reason alone, I limit my comics and collectibles exposure to a small, single-digit percentage of my portfolio. Because I love comics and collecting them is fun
  11. Your collection is great! Love seeing your posts!
  12. Sold a book - payment promptly sent. Super smooth transaction!
  13. I recently picked up a raw copy of an Ohio pedigree book, as designated by a very reputable national dealer whom I dealt with many times. I've never submitted a pedigree book before, but as I understand it, they need documentation to prove the pedigree, but the book didn't come with any. Are there other ways CGC could verify the book? It does have the easily identifiable distributor code on the cover, which is the mark of an Ohio pedigree. Or should I just not expect them to honor it? If anyone has any insight, that would be much appreciated. Thank you!
  14. Thanks to everyone who picked up books so far. Bump for more price drops
