I will agree to disagree with you on this one and fall back on/trust the decision made by CGC SS to change their stance. This is an art form and should be graded as such. I also do not want to derail this thread with semantics, let us appreciate the art which is what this thread is for.

I thought the same but apparently CGC SS has changed its stance or at least for this artist as he is submitting these himself directly to CGC Also, this is no different then any numerous licensed die cut covers by Marvel so I see no reason why CGC SS should not grade these accordingly.

I have purchased several of Harvey’s pieces in the past and would be hard pressed not to buy one if you put it in front of me but have never had the opportunity to commission one myself until now........

Phone was not cooperating with me on these pics but what I lack in photography Ash more than makes up for with art. Kneel before Zod! New batman Classic Spidey Could not pass on this one from CA auction This was a Tony Sklepic 9.6 that Ash added to for the grade bump...any guesses on the actor we chose for Robin in back?

All depends on what artist will take the time to work on that type of cover and I’m sure the medium they choose. I know Ash will paint the entire front and back and then lay down the commission if the paper quality is poor but that is just one single artist. I have had many other artists simply tell me they will not work on glossy/poor paper quality books. It is for that reason alone that you will see many of the books I have posted here with titles that don’t match the commission. It does not bother me but to others it might. I am simply choosing covers with the best paper.
