  1. What really bothered me the most was that I had no idea another offer was pending.
  2. It seems to me that whenever you make an offer, you are setting a benchmark for that seller as a price to beat. The book was likely yours up until someone agreed to pay a little more. Agreed. As disappointing as it can be for a buyer, an offer isn't a deal until accepted. (On eBay however counteroffers are binding) I had interpreted Jonnywad to mean that the seller had first answered him accepting his offer, than replied again changing his mind. He did accept the offer that I had given him. Later he replied that he had gone ahead and accepted another offer that had been pending, although I was unaware of this offer.
  3. It seems to me that whenever you make an offer, you are setting a benchmark for that seller as a price to beat. The book was likely yours up until someone agreed to pay a little more. I do get that. I was just upset that he aslo never told me that he had a pending offer that he was waiting on.
  4. Hey everyone, I was just wondering what anyone thinks about receiving a PM from a member stating that he agrees to sell a book, and before you get to respond (even though you already gave him a price to agree upon) he sends another PM back to you saying "disregard my last PM". Seemed pretty lame to me.
  5. I've still gotta pick the new issue up!!! Can't wait!
  6. Book is one of my favorites along with Scalped. Aaron knocks it outta the park. One of the only books I've collected slabs on
  7. My LCS owner has had this variant listed for $50 bucks since it went to the back issue bin. I've never been able to pull the trigger...
  8. Thanks guys! I have one up in moderns sale, but I have to keep one for myself!!! I love this story. I haven't got into collecting older keys, yet, because it's such an expensive habit. And, I love the modern stuff from the past few years.
  9. Love the story and art is amazing, to say the least. Just got this back from CGC
  10. No. This is a thread about literal nonsense, where grown men debate there opinions. It no longer has anything to do with comics heating up. Google+ is now miles ahead of this thread, which is crayy I thought Google+ was where I could buy "cool" shirts and "cool" variants? No. Its where people actually talk about comics heating up. This thread sucks now. Gone are the days of this thread giving vital comic book heating up information. Using real names on G+ sure does keep the vindictive lunatics at an arms length. This thread worthless now. Fight person_without_enough_empathy Complain.... Repeat. Larry, Is there a certain group or anything to look for on Google plus? I've never looked around there.
  11. Thanks EB for getting this done for me at NYCC!! My very first sketch, of many to come, is a great one!!!
  12. Thanks Rob, Larry, bighaley21... It's guys like you that help these boards
  13. We knew this on October 8th. Don't rely on CHU for late-breaking news. . Well, "we" didn't, otherwise I wouldn't have posted it. Unfortunately, not everyone has been around here as long. No reason to post comments like that and I see them all the time. This is one of the nastiest collector communities on the internet.... Indeed. And one of the best at the same time.. With all the Google+ & Facebook groups, blogs that have popped up recently, honestly, these boards are just mediocre now. definitely lost the fastball here. It's now just a third rate place for information, used to be tops. The core collectors of this site are BY FAR the best in the biz. I've created lifelong friendships with members from these boards in a little over a year. I have 1-2 friends off of facebook and don't even mess with google+ groups. If you think differently maybe you're going about it the wrong way. It's not all about what's hot ATM.. Those are definitely some of the reasons I joined this board. I have a lot to learn and it's always nice to make new, and knowledgable friends in this community. D bags I can do without though.
  14. Good to know as I dive deeper and deeper into this world....

I've noticed there are quite a few people talking ridiculous trash to you, Larry. Absolutely ridiculous! I can't wait for my Five Ghosts and YTs from ya! (thumbs u
  16. Isn't there in every aspect of life? Back to the Woods. I think that show could be pretty cool.
  17. . Thanks for that. I'm newer around here and to collecting. I don't keep up on everything and I'm not just worried about flipping books. I see a lot of condescending attitudes toward people that don't know everything about comics on these boards. I'm learning the ropes in all aspects of it, but don't need to be talked down to because someone has collected longer, has more $, or is just plain rude. I love this stuff! I am also a big fan of The Woods!!!

  19. I eventually wanna start getting some slabbed, but a lot of people I talk to tell me that it's an extremely expensive road to go down. Any feedback?
  20. Thanks guys! I've gotten on hear a few times and get overwhelmed by the knowledge, but I love it and everyone seems super friendly and supportive. Yes, that is a Preacher #1!!!
  21. Really wanna get my hands on a Saga 1 RRP amongst other things, but I'm pretty new to collecting. I did recently get a Preacher CGC 9.2 for super cheap. A Southern Bastards DCBS CGC 9.8 ss. All the East of West 1 variants except RRP, but all 9.8. A couple that I just love: manifest Destiny 1 a & b CGC 9.8. Pretty fun start to the madness!!!
  22. I have checked out all of the Grimm variants. It's a bit overwhelming. I think that if I head that way then I will have to find another job to support that collection by itself.
