Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
godzilla43 replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
So like over month ago I was buying some x-men related books from ebay and to "save" in postage fees I looked what else the seller had. He had NM starslayer 2 for like 9€. So I bought that. Soon I kinda got a buyers remorse that did I really need that etc. so I checked local market website if there is starslayer 2 for sale to maybe justify my purchase. I found a lot with unknown comics that had starslayer 2 and the comics lot was 8€ and cos the seller had also Big Hero 6 which is kinda X-men related for 8€ I was like maybe I just buy those also. He had also couple spider-man issue for 5€. I was like well spider-man wedding issue is kinda nice and there is one of those anniversary covers and well spider-ham.. So I bought those also. Because the seller was also living the same city I thought that maybe just meet seller and save couple bucks in postage fees. It took a month because of my and sellers work schedule but it was kinda funny to see now that spider-ham is the most valuable book of the bunch -
Damn I have watched this trailer like 5-6 times already.

Wow, so basically some one dig up some old tweets from Gunn before GOTG 1 and Disney fired him. Nice time we are living. Really weird tweets thou not my type of humor but still they are only tweets and if they did not bother people and Disney back then why now? Disney to fire him was not that surprising because as a public company they are afraid that scandal would affect their share prices etc. I think Dennis Villeneuve would never want to direct GOTG 3 and I don't know if he is really in to comics etc. I think Gunn was pretty good person to direct comic book films. He had a real interest of the source material but still was not like a total pop culture fan like Whedon or Kevin Smith. Maybe they just take some director who is happy to direct a film which has tight boundaries set up by Disney/Marvel. In GOTG 2 I think Gunn's hands were more tied and he could not make the film that he wanted. Nice timing thou. Would be interesting if this would come up in one of Marvels SDCC 2018 panels but I think not.

It is from Sweden. In that back cover there is a coupon to order Turtles shirts and the address says Göteborg which is a city in Sweden. Maybe in this day and age with Google, Google Translate etc. it is not that difficult to find out things like this... -
The official J Scott Campbell Appreciation/Discussion Thread
godzilla43 replied to jreezy's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I do not really collect variants or modern books but if I see something in LCS that is like under 5$ I maybe pick it up. Really like this cover. Sometimes JSC variants and variants in general have female characters drawn sexier than normally and it does not really represent what that character really is in comics. -
Couple weeks ago I bought a GI JOE collection. I was thinking that what run should I complete after UXM and it is GIJOE
-
I think those books are like day and night. X-men 221 is my opinion better book than X-factor 6. Same caliber bad guy but at least 221 is part of UXM so people want that book to complete runs. X-men 101 is not only important for the UXM story(dark phoenix, madelyne pryor story etc.) but also has iconic cover. Like my brother who is not into comics that much was like nice you have this when I bought X-men 101 3 years ago. He did not care about X-men 94 that I also bought.. So I think yes the book may come down a little bit after the movie but I don't think you will get a nice looking VG/Fine copy under 80$ in future anymore.

Proof that there is just too many sports in Olympics that no one give a s*it about. Like fencing, rowing and why men and women can not compete against each other in "sports" like skeet shooting? -

godzilla43 replied to exitmusicblue's topic in Comics General
I dunno previous years it has been easy answer uncanny x-men but YEAAAH I finished 94-304 this year Why 304 well cos fatal attractions. I had to collect those when I scored X-men 25 gold for couple bucks. Maybe New Mutants next but if I could complete whatever maybe EC Horror. -
The Toys That Made Us - Netflix documentary series
godzilla43 replied to 01TheDude's topic in The Movie Forum
Yeah, but those things would add up to much more steady decline in sales. In 86-87 masters of the universe toys were still selling good in Europe so maybe that 7 million is not in 1987. Like 7 million is under 2% of 400 million so like if today something that would be that popular would drop to nothing they must have advertise it like buy this and support ISIS. -

My brother did get the TMNT sewer but I got NES I would liked if these episodes would have gone little more dept about the creation, finance etc. like in he-man episode they tell that 1986 he-man sold 400 million and next year 7 million which is not explained at all. Only reason that I can think is that they just did not have any he-man toys to sell. -

He-man was pretty good. GI Joe was okay. Star Wars was just bad. Hasbro probably was afraid to say anything bad to make Disney angry. That episode also had most annoying stuff with narrator, commentators etc. Did not watch Barbie. Strange if there is no episode of Turtles. -

Official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Thread
godzilla43 replied to Mac Man's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
Yeah, I will keep my eye out for second print. How I see this if I use example New Mutants 87: Turtles 1st print is like New Mutants 87 first print Third print is like New Mutants 87 second print. Only difference is that NM87 second print is a 2$ book and there is people spending over 100$ for the third print.. Somewhere in the middle of those books sit Turtles 1 second print and what I am wondering is it closer to 1 or 3 print -
I would rank these shows the same way. Luke cage problem is that Cottonmouth dies in the middle of the show and he is much more interesting than Diamondback. The show should have used more Mahershala Ali and Alfre Woodard who are good actors. I think I managed to watch 6 episodes of Iron Fist thou. I just wanted to belive that the show will turn good but no

My small Turtles collection. Turtles 2 has signatures from Michael Dooney and A.C.Farley. I am now contemplating that should I buy Turtles 1 second print or third Second print it came out before Turtles 2 and it has "small" print run. Books 2-4 are second print. Then again it is at least 200-300 dollar book which is kinda the same thing than third print and not anything like the first print -

Great show but it seemed to end with ep12. They had to do ep13 just to turn Russo to Jigsaw. Russo escaped with the money but he came back to fight the Punisher? CIA gave the Punisher clean slate? If you have not watched the show skip ep13 it is pointless.
